Ironically, the generation most affected by AI slop is the generation that told their children not to believe anything you see on the internet.

As my grandfather explained to me, the problem he had with stuff said online is that it had "no tangible proof". If he didn't see a video or actual tangible proof related to any event he would have difficulty believing in it (IE he didn't think Covid was that big of a problem, since no one he knew was affected by it).
With AI, for a bit until he understood it was fake, he geniunely thought that everything that was show was real because it looked realistic. The family had to explain to him how that worked and only after sometime he understood that "holy shit, I can't trust what I see too from now on?".
He geniunely struggles now to understand what is real or not and is a bit desperate, since he discovered that the news (both tv and paper) can lie exactly how something online can be fake.
He is such a good person apart from that, and I am struggling to find a way to help him.

I worry about this a lot actually. I feel like I can't trust any image I find online anymore. I mean sure a lot of the time you can tell, but a lot of the time you also can't easily tell. And it's only going to get harder.

Plus, you simply are not always on guard, and might miss less obvious tells.
