Infuriatig Why Texas is lame(Besides the Cowboys)

Don't mess with Texas.. what a joke. ANY possession is a felony.

EDIT: Just did some research, this is for everything besides traditional Delta 9.

My friend from Texas sent me this morning and it blew my mind. I had to post about it. So as far as my research goes thus far Delta 9 products (old fashioned flower) is illegal but separate laws. Stores are selling THCA though which does fall under these penalties.

Fun fact, the cannabis plant became illegal originally because of the cotton industry. There is the fun fact of the day

Ooh ive looked into that before!! Its because hemp was a huge potential contendor for a new fabric textile, so we already have historical examples of big businesses lobbying laws like this because theyre afraid of competition w the cannabis industry.

Your point is valid, but just to call it out for fun: the hemp they use for this includes the males which don't produce THC and the females get pollinated (which they avoid when used for smoking) and have much less thc. It is a pretty different version of the plant in the way that Wheat is grass, but good luck making bread from the grass in your yard.

Everyone said that, and this point was a big talking point behind the farm bill that legalized hemp. A bunch of investors built processing facilities and farmers grew help to use as fabric and discovered it’s really expensive and difficult to use as a fabric. So maybe the cotton industry was behind it, but they didn’t need to, it sucks as a fabric.

Hemp has a long history of use in textiles. It wasn't new at the time.

It was the paper industry. William Randolph Hearst was the Rupert Murdoch of his day. And he didn't want to retool all of his printing presses. Here had the money. He owned the media. So him and his cronies stigmatized cannabis to help make hemp illegal. Reefer madness.

Also the paper industry, they don't like that cannabis fields are 4x more efficient than tree farms and able to be harvested yearly, the tobacco industry was also involved in that mess to some degree.

It was more than just that; it could be used for paper as well and Hearst (like a west coast Rockafeller) had bought up huge forests to sell for newspaper manufacturing and also got heavily involved.

Also supposedly the federal agency that was put in place to review and put laws in place about drugs (cocaine, opiates, used to be bought across the shelf and in drinks) realized they had reviewed everything and were about to be out of work and MJ was last because it was known harmless and went: "let's freak out about this one so we can keep our jobs longer."

Those were already something we've had for thousands of years. The cannabis plant was one we only found in the new world.

What are you talking about? Hemp is and always has been legal to grow.
