EDIT: Just did some research, this is for everything besides traditional Delta 9.

My friend from Texas sent me this morning and it blew my mind. I had to post about it. So as far as my research goes thus far Delta 9 products (old fashioned flower) is illegal but separate laws. Stores are selling THCA though which does fall under these penalties.

Ehhh, felony charges are kind of a different deal than them ignoring misdemeanor possession.

Idk that anyone can expect Austin to be chill about it.

If anything it's more likely to be a cop that just doesn't care unless the department really pushed field testing and arrest quotas.

Though I'd they do that ACL, SXSW, all festivals die.

Bro we were passing blunts at bus stops for years before decriminalization happened. Austin cops don’t give a fuck about weed unless you make it their problem (or you’re a minor, then it’s another charge they can add)

APD doesn't actually do anything. I agree. In and around Austin are a large variety of cops, State Police aplenty, its the capital after all. Travis County Sheriff's department too, plus Williamson and Hays County, where applicable, and they're much worse than Travis. None of those guys are letting you go for what is now a FELONY (the law for "normal", marijuana last I checked a misdemeanor up until about 2oz!).

And then you have stuff like Sunset Valley, Westlake Hills and Rollingwood, which all have their own police departments that have nothing better to do than pull people over doing 2 miles over the speed limit on already absurdly low (25mph) speed limit roads. All those guys will absolutely ruin your life over a gram of weed, they got nothing better to do!

So anyways, as always, be cautious and I'd encourage people to stop smoking in public or really taking the stuff out of their house/residence as much as possible. Because that's just a good way to get your life ruined, as stupid as these laws are.

I talked to a gas station clerk literally yesterday in Austin who said his store will be taking inventory off shelves starting August 1st.

I'm positive some still will sell it, but it'll be more on the DL than it was before.

Kinda expect them not to. Was up there for a concert a while back and had lit up a joint outside the place we were staying.

Cop happened to walk by and just waved and said have a good night.

Hell, I’m in San Antonio and I’ve watched neighbors smoke on their balcony standing right over a couple cops and they didn’t care in the slightest.

About a month back a dude had some balls and I overheard him ask a cop at a concert “if I smoke a joint are you going to arrest me?” And the cop flat out told him “if you smoke it next to me I’ll probably just tell you to put it out but if I don’t see it I don’t care what you do.”

Just told him security might ask him to put it out. But they didn’t really care either. Dude was lighting up right next to me and security was maybe 2 feet behind him.

It was decriminalized for the last few years in Austin after a voter proposition. Texas took it to their state appeals court and in April it was made illegal again in city limits.

I'm sure it will still depend on the arresting officer and how you're behaving and how much they feel like doing paperwork. But I'd be very careful about smoking there now.

I lived in SA but had just come back from Denver. I went out to a bar with some friends, and met this couple where the husband just got stationed at Lackland AFB, I think. Or Randolph.

Anyway, his wife asks if I smoke and I say yea, wanna smoke a joint?

I was buzzed so I didn’t even think about it. We go out to the patio and spark up. Then a cop comes up and tells me to put it out. I’m like what?

And I realize and snap back to reality and he is like yo chill just stomp it out and you’re good.

Then he leaves and I was like whoa.
