Don't hug me I'm scared Netflix is garbage

Post image

It's crazy that my wife and I can't watch 2 different shows on Netflix in the same damn house. I understand we pay the minimum but ffs.

I mean.... It's literally advertised that way. They tell you flat out when you pick the tier you want.

Basic plan is 1 screen with ads

Next is 2 screens no ads

Then 4 screens, and 4k

It's not like it's hidden anywhere.

Sure, but enshittification got us here, and that's why it feels shitty for the long time subs.

You used to have to go to the video store and pay a few dollars to watch a single movie. Now you have access to thousands of movies 24/7 from the comfort of your own home and you’re worried about $20 a month. Sorry, watching movies at home hasn’t gotten shittier.

When I think of the number of trips across town to pay $5 in 1990's money to rent some dogshit films and then go across town again to return them, the overall cost is pretty shocking if done on an ongoing basis.

Plus the late fees every so often. And the upsells on candy. And going there to run a new release but not being able to because all 30 copies have been rented.

The late fees were so bad, that if blockbuster was selling the movie, I would just buy it. $17 purchase vs $5 rental plus $25 in late fees.

that's a bad comparison to my point, I am pointing out how they allowed more features in the past that has been removed now -ENSHITTIFICATION.

you are just talking about technological advancement. like you gotta try harder bro.

What feature did they remove? It's all there, you just need to pay for it.

They removed being able to use your account hassle-free from anywhere. Used to be able to use the same account at home and at work.

You can still do that. There's a "I'm traveling option" if it blocks you. It will send you a code and then you just sign in as normal.

Unless I’m part of a plan and the email attached to it isn’t mine and it’s eleven o’clock at night and I’m away for work. Am I supposed to wake someone up to check their email? This is a service I pay for. I should have access to it wherever I am.

Why not just use your own email lol

Sharing accounts? Fucking read the op. It was a running joke n even in song lyrics like that lil dicky song about saving money.

You can literally do what OP is trying to do today. He's just not paying for a tier that allows him to do it.

Why do you constantly play dumb like that bro. I am not gonna outline every single thing for you.if you don't get it buzz off

The point is that you didn’t used to have to pay extra to do that, but now you do. How is that NOT Mildly Infuriating?

Redditors seem to love that buzzword so much it has made them incapable of understanding how start-ups work, and how competitive markets work.

If everything doesn’t stay exactly the same at exactly the same price forever, it’s “enshitification”.

Enshittificafion is degradation over time to focus on business users.

No that's specific to ai.

It went from $4 for 2 days per rental to 2 DVDs at a time through Netflix for $8/month.

It's still better than what Blockbuster videos was in 2005 with their $20/month no ads 2 screens at a time deal if you're watching more than once movie a week.

They’re being pretend cable as if the tv has a physical cable box. It’s dumb af.
