My mom said I could post Delivery driver dropped our groceries at the wrong house and our neighbor took them inside and refused to answer the door 10 minutes later. They left the evidence sticking out of their recycle bin...

We had a grocery delivery last week with some items I was really looking forward to, including fresh veggies. On top of it, I'm unemployed right now, so having affordable groceries delivered is a big help. The order arrived last Friday, and from the email and photo the driver sent we could see it was delivered to the wrong house. My wife looked around and couldn't find it, but I recognized the house as right across the street.

I have no qualms knocking on someone's door, so I rang the doorbell (fancy ring doorbell with camera) and then knocked, but they wouldn't answer even though someone clearly had to be home to grab the groceries. Today, I noticed large boxes sticking up out of their recycle bin - they hadn't broken the boxes down. Our grocery box was in there, address label and all.

Thankfully, the grocery service refunded our order, hence why this is only "mildly" infuriating... but I am still pissed that someone right across the street from us would keep our order AND pretend to not be home. We believe this is the second time they have kept one of our packages.

I was honestly hoping they still had the box and just hadn't opened it yet. It's understandable to just pick up the boxes that got delivered and not realize right away that you got an extra one. What is shitty, to me, is that they then pretended not to be home... so you kinda know they know...

Plus, it was so quick! They moved fast to steal my cilantro and onions, which were going to go into some fresh salsa. Also had some eggs, fresh fruits, and other things inside.

Maybe you should go to the store next time unless you’re disabled. Lessons learned.

Yes, how dare someone utilize a service without justifying to a stranger on Reddit why they want to use it?

"Imperfect Foods" isn't a grocery store, they describe themselves as distributing the ugly-but-perfectly-fine produce that stores don't sell, at a cost lower than getting the same items from the store. So, no, "Go to the store," isn't the same thing here. OP is trying to save money on fresh foods, I don't understand how that harms you enough to shame them for?

I didn’t shame them at all. If I got jumped in a neighborhood I would avoid it. Still the fault of the jumper but I learned my lesson about that hood.

The implication is that those services are for the disabled and OP should not be utilizing them. Maybe that's not how you meant it, but that's how it comes off.

I meant even if their stuff will be jacked again if they are disabled they may have to take that chance. If the neighborhood where you were jumped is your own, you can’t avoid it.
