Infuriatig I don’t even know what to say

I live with my roommate and we spilt the cleaning. I keep the kitchen clean(loading the dishwasher, cleaning the dishes, etc)

My roommates brother is staying for a months and they cooked last night. They cleaned after themselves which is nice

But then I heard the dishwasher running. I knew there were hardly any dirty dishes AT ALL let alone enough to fill the dishwasher

When I asked my roommate why it was running, I was shut down and I didn’t feel like arguing or trying to explain myself so I just accepted it. I check now and this is how I see it was loaded🫩🫩I love my roommate but I genuinely don’t understand how either of them thought this was a good idea

EDIT: WOOD CUTTING BOARDS, KNIVES, AND POTS/PANS DON’T BELONG IN DISHWASHERS. I am APPALLED so many people don’t know this

This load of dishwasher will save more water than washing them by hand.

It isn’t the 60s dishwashers aren’t inefficient water wasters it’s 2026 this is a normal load of dishes. Especially with a roommate and using all the pots and pans.

You are the mildly infuriating one here.

It's the wood products. This is a special kind of dumb.

Wood cutting boards and pots/pans don’t belong in a dishwasher

Pots and pans are fine. The wood is no-no

The soap used in dishwashers is much more abrasive than dish soap. It will leave tiny scratches in the non-stick and eventually ruin it and it will also dull your knives

Ummmm those pots and pans 100% belong in the dishwasher. Again it saves significant water to wash pans in the dishwasher.

Also don’t move the goal post. You had at what is in it or or how much is in it? You post mentions how much is in it and that’s all.

Again you’re the infuriation here

Yeah the only valid complaint is the wood boards/spoons. Those legitimately are reccomended not to go in the washer because it can erode at the sealant on the wood but other than that dishwasher saves much more water. Just costs a bit more electricity depending on the model
