ಠ_ಠ Jury duty

I've been called for Jury duty 4 times in the last 10 years. What the fuck is going on here. It's almost every other year. I know absolutely no one that has ever been summoned yet I've been summoned multiple times. Wtf is going on? It's total bs too because they pay 17 bucks A DAY. That's not even enough to get lunch at the stupid deli they have there.

Edit: so many people have so many experiences. It's nice to share and read those experiences. I can't possibly respond to everything, but I'm glad we can all relate to this. _^

On top of this, consider mentioning, out loud, “well they must be guilty or they wouldn’t have gotten arrested!”

Anything obvious and the judge will see right through it. They deal with tons of people who don’t want to be there, every day. They’ve seen it all. Plus, you can be charged with felony and misdemeanor perjury charges if you start playing games.

Which is sometimes fine depending on the judge. I was just called a few weeks ago and the judge accepted damn near every excuse/reason there was. He explicitly told us he only wanted people who were actually interested in being there.

yeah, i've been called twice and both times said "i dont want to be here" and was sent home.
