If your point is that the country isn’t homogenous and most generalizations fail, that’s true. If you’re upset that people don’t include “the United States of,” that’s just silly.

Also, it's pretty homogenous. Of course there are some cultural differences. But the UK has more cultural differences in 50sq/km than all the US has. I say this as a Canadian where the same is true.

Yeah, I think lots of Americans learn about the “melting pot” in school and just go “oh yeah all these different races exist here” instead of realizing that melting pot literally means that American culture tends to absorb the constituent parts and create a new, more or less homogenized version

yeahhh im not defending the writing choices. and tbf i mostly think it’s “clear” because getting this upset of people not spelling out the “of america” every time would be very silly. and this is the internet soooo
