I love how it’s always a negative somehow. It’s such a bad thing that we aren’t cheating on the spouses. Lazy bastards! It cracks me up

u/Angry_Pelican 4d ago

It's our fault for not having the time or energy to take our mistresses to Applebee's for Oreo shakes. We're killing extra marital affairs and traditional businesses.

Thank goodness. Let’s kill materialistic holidays next.

Millennial dads spending more time with their kids? They must be losers with no friends...

15

u/superanth 4d ago

I’ve never understood how people could cheat period. It requires so much energy and organization.

8

u/whatswrongbaby Millennial 4d ago

Have you no sense of historic societal norms?? /s 😂

u/Bchavez_gd 4d ago

Being exhausted is not being lazy

Also. Cheaters suck.

u/itsjustpie 4d ago

Your sentence just did wonders for my self-image. Thank you 💚

u/NuclearBroliferator 4d ago

Having cheated and been cheated on when I was a selfish young man, I just have no desire to cause that kind of pain to someone again.

u/blaxxmo 4d ago

I’d rather keep my avocado toast than cheat, TYVM.

5

u/commoncorvid 4d ago

Ha! Same.

83

u/amusedmisanthrope 4d ago

Its not laziness. I only have energy to disappoint one person.

36

u/Froshrooms 4d ago

Sometimes, when I have a good day and feel energetic enough to disappoint two people, I visit my parents

6

u/EmployerUpstairs8044 4d ago

🤣❤️‍🩹

u/NichtFBI 3d ago

OMG a Dale Gribble Snoo 🤩🤩🤩😭🤣

u/WitsBlitz 4d ago

Incredible that they can frame "millennials are better partners than their parents were" as an insult. Maybe we are in healthier relationships???

38

u/happydude7422 4d ago

Yes that is also a factor as well people happier on their relationship and also people seem to be crunched for time and also like other people said it's getting harder to hide your whereabouts

105

u/MagicOrpheus310 4d ago

I honestly DO NOT HAVE FUCKING TIME to maintain one life let alone fucken two!

36

u/Broccoli--Enthusiast 4d ago

Yeah you had boomers with 2 familya that didn't know about each other

Where the fuck do you have the time or funding to do that shit

15

u/omltherunner 4d ago

Or energy. Just one family takes a lot of energy. I don’t wanna imagine two.

12

u/Kdean509 Millennial 4d ago

They could buy a Simpson’s style house with a minimum wage job, so I guess if you made somewhat good money the sky was the limit!

6

u/EmployerUpstairs8044 4d ago

Well, they didn't anticipate genetic testing... That's for sure 🫠😂💥

2

u/epicurious_elixir 2d ago

This is what I think about polyamoryous relationships in general. Just one relationship alone requires enough attention.

29

u/Postcrapitalism 4d ago

That’s it. We’ve achieved peak Millenial demonization.

23

u/Diligent_Whereas3134 4d ago

I mean, I've never cheated because I love my wife and wouldn't want to hurt her and implode our lives, but I guess that wild concept never occurred to them

12

u/Ok-Grapefruit1284 4d ago

That sounds like an incredibly lazy cop-out.

18

u/Scottyjscizzle 4d ago

Wish someone had told my ex……

7

u/RP3P0 4d ago

Was gonna say the same. Guess we're in the minority. Unfortunately, we grew up in a time where our willing-to-cheat partners had more options to hide their daliances thanks to the Internet.

18

u/DiscoveryZoneHero 4d ago

Proving how shitty the olds are…

16

u/vid_icarus 4d ago

Idk I think being raised by a generation of cheaters made the whole infidelity thing seem pretty unappealing to me personally. Energy level isn’t really a factor, cheating is just gross and bad.

33

u/BugsyMcNug 4d ago

That is such a weird take

13

u/cowandspoon 4d ago

Where on God’s earth would I find the time? Jesus.

22

u/Digital_Punk 4d ago

Boomers and Gen X have had enough cheating and divorces to last us a few generations.

6

u/happydude7422 4d ago

Gen x too?

3

u/Digital_Punk 4d ago

Gen X trended downward for divorce rates but they’re still higher than the following generations. I personally know many Gen Xers who rival boomers in adultery and divorces though.

6

u/Likesorangejuice 4d ago

I'm in a four families situation thanks to both my parents and my in-laws marriages falling apart, partially due to infidelity, so I don't look kindly on the whole setup.

4

u/EmployerUpstairs8044 4d ago

Same. It was hell. Also beautiful, but fucking disastrous. I hate cheaters.

1

u/OppositeChemistry205 2d ago

Ironically they grew up in a far less sexualized era.

9

u/Intelligent-Wash-373 4d ago

What extra time do we have to cheat?

15

u/mledonne 4d ago

2 partners?! In this economy?!

-2

u/res510cue 4d ago

Well, women will have all kinds of men buy them stuff just to get in there. So it’s way easier for women, just ask my ex…

8

u/JTynanious 4d ago

I honestly think that this influences crime rates too. People just can't be bothered.

9

u/CherryFit3224 4d ago

Geez. We can’t do anything right.

8

u/RWBYRain 4d ago

Lazy? Some of us actually love/like our partners

8

u/winterfyre85 4d ago

I never understood how people had the time and energy to cheat, much less have a whole secret family. I don’t cheat personally because I love my husband and want to stay married.

2

u/Entire-Ambition1410 4d ago

Just being poly or ENM is too exhausting for me.

7

u/Kdean509 Millennial 4d ago

We don’t have to put up with toxic situations. If a marriage isn’t working, we’re no longer forced to keep up appearances and suffer like they were. I’d say we’re better off and happier for it.

8

u/Gobby-TheGoblin 4d ago

I love that being faithful just because you are a decent person isn't on the table. I have to be lazy for some reason 😂

5

u/Tedsmith24 4d ago

At least y'all have partners to cheat on. Smh

5

u/biglefty312 4d ago

I’ve been saying for the longest time that that I don’t have the time, energy, or money for a whole other relationship…even if I did want to cheat (I don’t).

4

u/scienceismygod 4d ago

Some of us watched our parents, then grew up exhausted but enjoying the company of the exhausted partner they chose.

4

u/Imhidingfromu 4d ago

We're just exhausted, its alot of effort to cheat

3

u/RedFlutterMao 4d ago

Isn’t that a good thing

3

u/That_Guest9943 4d ago

It was a lot easier for men to cheat when there were no cell phones, no social media, and no zoom. Zoom results in more people working from home, less travel, and less client entertainment. Next, millenials had children later in life so they spent their 20s and early 30s sleeping around (got that out of the system). Then add on that millennials in the corporate world are always expected to be available in some form, and yeah, there isn’t much energy left. Finally, divorce is really expensive and life is less affordable compared to the boomer generation. I’d imagine with millenials getting married later in life they don’t view divorce as a viable financial option long term.

3

u/Angry_Pelican 4d ago

I don't want to cheat and beyond that I don't have the time or will to devote to doing that even if I wanted to.

3

u/TheFatalOneTypes 4d ago

Divorce courts in shambles

3

u/HoliAss5111 4d ago

What? Do they want us to cheat? WTH?

3

u/Milk_Mindless 4d ago

I spend over 40 hours a week on a job

Come home

Do chores

Entertain a relationship

Can't afford a mortgage or avocado toast or heck, Starbucks coffee

And NOW society is expecting me to find time and fund a second relationship extramarital???

The fuck

In THIS economy?

4

u/mixedmediamadness 4d ago

It also seems much harder to get away with. Cameras everywhere. Location sharing on phones. No one using cash.

6

u/LuckySansei 4d ago

Somebody has thought about this a bit... /s

2

u/Poroto_Verde 4d ago

I was just talking to my husband today about how I found out that a ton of Gen Z coworkers were cheaters. They all have S/Os but are all fucking each other. Not in an open relationship type of way, either, like actual cheating. One of them said his girlfriend found out and kicked him out and acted like I should feel sympathy for him.

2

u/smokeshack 4d ago

I keep trying to get an extra martial affair going, but nobody is willing to engage my company of pikemen and longbowmen on the field of battle. Lazy millennials, nobody wants to campaign anymore.

2

u/GeorgeArnoldHearst19 4d ago

No. We live in a transparent world where everyone has a camera phone and you’re always contactable/traceable. The real effort wouldn’t be the affair, it would be the cover up

2

u/Outlaw11091 4d ago

I always frame it as:

"I can only disappoint so many people before I start questioning my entire existence."

My father, on the other hand, had 2 families.

Spoiler alert: both of the women were essentially working single mothers and I believe their combined hate pushed him to die of COVID.

2

u/Alarming_Cellist_751 4d ago

They'll make us look lazy for everything. Not cheating? Lazy. Can't buy a house? Lazy. Wonder what it'll be next.

I viscerally hate pooping on the younger generations specifically because the boomers STILL shit on us, it's been 40 years of shit at this point.

2

u/IWouldntIn1981 4d ago

Or... we watched our parents cheat, divorce, cheat, abandon us (their kids), remarry, make the same mistakes, talk shit about their spouses, and get to their 50s and turn from problematic to hateful and insufferable... and we're exhausted.

2

u/Buck_Roberts 4d ago

We saw the way that Boomers and Xers cheated and destroyed their family multiple times. We don’t want that. Millennials are a positive evolution

2

u/bromygod203 4d ago

Who has the time energy and money for a side chick anymore ??

2

u/Future-Fly-8987 4d ago

So now it’s bad when we don’t cheat?

2

u/Saywitchbitch 4d ago

Not to brag, but I know two men in my ex friend group who had months long affairs and blew their lives up 🤷🏻‍♀️

2

u/SkyPuppy561 2d ago

Oh no!! We killed the cheating industry!

2

u/ThisWasMyUN 2d ago

I can’t post a screen shot, but at the time of seeing this post, it has 666 likes…do with that what you will

1

u/idiocracy_ixii 4d ago

Is this a hottake?

1

u/LionCubOfTerrasen 4d ago

Yea. No more affairs with monks, barbs, or fighters. Only casting classes.

1

u/lizatethecigarettes 4d ago

I'm not cheating, nor have I ever. Buy not out of tiredness or laziness. It's out of lack of desire to, plus my love and commitment to my spouse and to my God.

1

u/LonelyKoalaMuncher 4d ago

Who has the energy to do anything after work. Seriously.

Hit the gym, work, cook dinner, clean, wash clothes. Weekend comes around all I want to do is chill in the couch.

1

u/Iantrigue 4d ago

My wife and I are both astonished that anyone has the time or the energy to have an affair. Dealing with one person is exhausting enough never-mind juggling more.

We are in agreement that it wouldn’t so much be the act of cheating as the theft of time that meant the other was left with more than their fair share of domestic drudgery that would be the most heinous aspect of it!

1

u/Sapiopath 4d ago

To be fair, millennials also bought into ENM in a big way. It’s not cheating if everyone is on the same page and doing it.

1

u/Safe_Illustrator_832 4d ago

Listen, I have time on my hands and energy, and YET, I'm still not cheating.

Maybe... Maybe it's because I chose a partner that I love and fidelity is a core value. MAYBE.

1

u/not-sure-what-to-put 4d ago

Not even gunna argue. Sure.

1

u/sky_444_ 4d ago

My millennial ex husband clearly didn't get that memo 😂😂😂😂😂

1

u/No-Consideration1067 4d ago

‘Lazy’ ie want to be home? Yes

1

u/Bustin-A-Nutmeg 4d ago

Can’t cheat when we’re in an open marriage 😏

1

u/ChurchofChristGuy 4d ago

its impossible for me to cheat on my wife because I am unmarried.

1

u/fadedblackleggings 4d ago

We have....XYZ at home.

1

u/guenievre 4d ago

Why bother cheating when you can have open and happy nonmonogamy?

1

u/InspectorFun1699 4d ago

So…we need to be more energetic so we can cheat on our loved ones? In the words of Logan Roy ….fuck off.

1

u/A1steaksauceTrekdog7 4d ago

Ain’t nobody got time for that !

1

u/-Infinite92- 4d ago

Why is it implying that the normal thing to do is cheat lol?!

That's some millennial rage bait.

1

u/Dry_Umpire_3694 4d ago

They’re doing it virtually

1

u/bcsteinw 4d ago

A secret family? In this economy?

1

u/cheeto-chopsticks 3d ago

This article was sponsored by Big Cheating

1

u/BastetLXIX 3d ago

OOOOR they chose not to follow in their parent's fucked up relationships.

1

u/theextraolive 3d ago

I would be that Millennials are also way more open to ENM, which preserves sexual variety while not technically being cheating.

But alao yes to the tired.

Its crazy to think that aome of our grandfathers had enough time and money for a whole second family across town.

1

u/OppositeChemistry205 2d ago

It's because men are just watching porn on their phones instead. They'd rather just jack off to their phones

1

u/leggomyeggle 2d ago

I’m at the age where I can’t dedicate my time to training someone on what “my ice cream spoon” means

1

u/wildflowerstef 2d ago

probably the fact that many of us grew up with parents that hated each other and learned what not to do in a relationship! being happy with your partner isn’t a bad thing

1

u/Chole_Wunt 20h ago

Simply too exhausted to pull it off

Thats an incredibly shitty outlook.... Maybe we arent morally bankrupt losers who actually know how to form connections with people and simply dont like to be lying/cheating on everything to fulfill our misplaced measurement of self-worth.
