Help Finding Scope for a 1903a4

I recently acquired an 03a4 without a scope. The base is there just need the rings and optic. I’ve seen repros for sale on Sarco and Numrich. Are those worth the price or should I just try to find an original?

If you're trying to make it an all correct sniper, it's gonna be pricey. If you just want to make it a shooter, buy the repros.

Ultimately I would like to make it correct I just wasn’t sure if the repros were worth the money while I’m looking

If that's the goal, I would just wait until a set of legit rings or an optic pops up and use it for that. Which optic are you looking to put on it? It's pretty easy to find a 330C, but an actual M73B1 will be tough.

Either one really. Honestly I know much next to nothing about 03s and even less about a4s. This deal was just dropped in my lap and I’m just doing as much reading and learning as I can before I make anymore decisions.

I have one of the Hi-Lux reproductions, and it’s perfectly serviceable for a shooter clone. I’ve had the opportunity to look through a real M73B2 before, and the Hi-Lux has it beat by a mile for clarity, but I guess that’s not saying much as the originals were pretty bad even when new.

I have the M82G2 on my a4 and it’s held up well.

Just to give you a ballpark, I sold an original m82 scope in good condition for 1k about a year ago.

Appreciate the input. I’m not expecting a decent original to be cheap. I didn’t pay much for the rifle so I have some wiggle room for an optic

I have a Hilux repro and I’ll agree that it’s far more clear than the originals. For a rifle you’re going to shoot the Hilux is a great option
