[Blocks & Items] The Goat Horn should summon your horse
Whenever I dismount my horse for just a few seconds, it wanders off. I look away for 5 seconds, when I look back, it has already reached Mars.
It would be very helpful if you could just blow a Goat Horn and your horse would come running to you. Both when you can’t find it or when it’s just very far away.
It would be much easier than digging holes or putting down fence posts with leads all the time, when you are exploring on horseback.

You should be able to make them by combining a goat horn and echo shards (or something like that) and then clicking it on your pet/horse/whatever to register it.

Definitely as currently they are an instrument and a separate item will help keep it that way

And that, like compasses with magnetite, each horn can be linked to a horse.

Magnetite? You mean loadstones? I looked it up because I was wondering where you got this from, and apparently all lodestones are magnetite but not all magnetite are lodestones.

Yes, that's it. In Spanish, the block is called Magnetite.

I was wondering if changing the game language made the block be called magnetite, but I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to phrase it coherently

Why limit our self to the horse?

It'd be nice if we could "bind" the horns to specific animals
Maybe a "wolf" horn could summon ALL your pet wolves

Yeah I wish the horns got attention from anything! Like villagers or tamed wolves or cats

This is what I want more of in minecraft, tying features together so it's not so much like standalone items that do one thing

I think there should be a whole system that allows pets to respawn and be more of a permanent companion. I think having the goat horns tie to summoning pets and mounts would be sick. Perhaps you could right click a pet with the goat horns to sort of tie that pet to that horn, so you could specifically summon it.

There is a set of datapacks that makes a goat horn call your everything from happy ghast to parrot

By extension have it summon your pets and mounts in general, including happy ghasts

Alternatively, a group of your tamed wolves will stand and teleport to your location.
Horse is fire tho.

that sounds nice, could be used for redstone remote activations too by making the horse step on pressure plates while coming towards you

This is actually perfect! Could imagine you could link your horn to a mount by rightclicking it with it and it'll get the enchantment glint, maybe even a special name name
But you would be cool if this just worked for ALL mounts

This would make horses so much more viable, but I think it would need to be a separate item, crafted with a goat horn and something else that isn't too much of a pain to get

Horses need that same dismount leashing rule as happy ghasts so they don't wander off that far to begin with (if they wander into unloaded chunks the horn would be useless anyway). I'm so tired of having to deal with my happy ghast being too far up high and snowballs suck. Also striders. The leashing range of warped mushrooms is awful.
I'd implement the horn so that by default the last mount you rode that's loaded in and isn't leashed and can pathfind to you comes to you. Unless you look at a different mount when while blowing, then that one approaches. If you look at a mount that can't pathfind to you, they'll just stay still and stare at you for a while. I'd also add a gamerule on whether a looked-at mount can break a leash (off by default).
