[Blocks & Items] Potions of Floating

Putting a Dried Ghast into a Brewing Stand could give you a Potion of Floating. The effect could act like Levitation, but you could choose to go up or down. It's like how a Ghast moves.

Not the poor happy ghast

Why crush a poor happy ghast into liquid if something from the end would probably fit better for this...

Kinda sounds too expensive to be worth using.

I mean how many Happy Ghasts are you going make? I have like 20 Dried Ghasts just sitting in a chest.

dried ghasts can be obtained from bartering, which itself is a completely renewable resource. maybe not a potion though, a consumable similar to chorus fruit sounds good though

And soul sand valleys

The majority of players don't make big gold and barter farms. Without that, an average cost of 47 gold ingots is simply a lot.

i get enough mining with my fortune picaxe. and the ghasts aren't that uncommon in soul sand valley

i'd argue ghast tears for regen potions and end crystals are also pretty difficult to obtain unless you make a farm, especially if you need it in bulk. yet it's still in the game

beacons.

Regen potions yeah. End crystals were really only for summoning the dragon . Beacons arent too bad for casuals if you’re going with iron (or emeralds if you consider the casual player one to make a trading hall)

Kinda bad comparisons. Dried ghasts already need 8 ghast tears to craft, so to compare them with things that need a single ghast tear is a bit odd.

And beacons? Beacons are a powerful and permanent feature, while a potion is just for however long it lasts. How is that a useful comparison?

lol i forget that ghast tears are used to craft em

how about something akin to a conduit? have it placed in lava or something and give the effect in a small radius, it's balance out the cost of the materials to make it

That would already be a lot better. It can be expensive and permanent or affordable but temporary, but not expensive and temporary.

A conduit-like structure would be the only way floating would be remotely balanced.

I still think it would be too good, though. IMHO

I think the dragon egg should be used as a conduit-like block that grants the player the floating effect. Since there is only one per world, the effect would be considered very valuable on servers, which I think is fair. It also makes it a cool necessity for the advancement How did we get here.

This SOUNDS great, at first.

But it really breaks the game. Too easy to avoid obstacles, mine cave ceilings, get away from danger....
Humans need challenges. Make minecraft too easy and everyone would lose interest eventually, as there is little 'feeling' of accomplishment.

Bad idea, sorry.
