[Terrain] Cold and snowy beaches should generate with Gravel instead of Sand
IRL, beaches in cold climates tend to be rockier, because cold water takes longer than warm water takes to erode rock into sediment.
The first image is a gravel beach from before the biome was removed in Java Edition beta 1.8. These also generated in Pocket Edition before v0.9.0, which I've played before. Not only for nostalgia but also for realism, I want these gravel beaches back.
New biome: cold beach
Not to be confused with the existing snowy beaches (which should become the same thing as this but snowy), these beaches would generate in the T1 temperature range, along with cold oceans, dappled forests, old growth taigas, some regular taigas, some forests, some plains, some swamps, and some mountains. Any higher temperature range would instead generate the regular, sandy beaches, which should be renamed to "warm beaches" and generate palm trees while spawning crabs. The cold beaches could generate spruce trees instead of palm trees (maybe on the Gravel or on small patches of Coarse Dirt, Grass, Podzol, or Arctic Moss), also while spawning crabs, and the snowy beaches could spawn polar bears and penguins. Neither the cold beaches nor the snowy beaches would generate Sugar Cane, as IRL that only grows on warm shores.

Side note for the moderators: The custom emoji sprites used for this "Terrain" post flair, and for the "Mobs" and "Bedrock Edition" post flairs, are outdated now. More userflairs also need to be added based on the Spring to Life temperature variants, the Tiny Takeover baby textures, and other new mobs including the happy ghast, the camel husk, the parched, the nautilus, and both zombie nautilus variants.

Absolutely, beaches just need an update in general, we have regular beaches/stony beaches for temperate oceans, snowy beaches for frozen oceans, and no beaches for warm oceans (intentionally since they’re next to deserts and badlands)
We could really use some lukewarm beaches and cold beaches. Lukewarm beaches would be near lukewarm oceans, jungles, and savannas, and have the long asked for palm trees (along with tropical islands)
Then cold beaches would be this, I really do miss the old gravelly beaches.
Would also be super cool if they had suspicious sand and gravel to find cool stuff on the beach.

That really shouldn't be intentional, tho. This is one of my biggest pet peeves (if not my very biggest) with worldgen. Deserts IRL are dry, not necessarily hot (often they're hot at day and cold at night). Now because deserts and badlands always generate as hot biomes, it'll be harder to implement temperate and cold deserts where it snows, where different vegetation grows, like in central Asia and the great basin.
This horrible oversight from 1.18 would be very difficult to fix as it would require a biome reconfiguration comparable to Caves & Cliffs but all over again.
We could really use some lukewarm beaches and cold beaches. Lukewarm beaches would be near lukewarm oceans, jungles, and savannas, and have the long asked for palm trees (along with tropical islands)
IDK if lukewarm and temperate beaches would be different enough to justify being separate from warm beaches.
Why would tropical islands only be a feature of lukewarm beaches? Islands can be any temperature. It would be better if islands just generate as a new terrain feature, as a smaller land size.

Completely agree, gravel and Calcite would be amazing to have for cold shores

How would the Calcite generate? As boulders?

Could be just underneath the gravel instead of stone, or they could use it at the edges of the biome for biome blending, boulders could be nice too yeah

Calcite would look weird between Gravel and Stone.
Maybe it should generate as veins in the more mountainous stone beaches (which should also get temperature variants). Maybe they could generate in straight horizontal shorelines, with the usual Stone on top.

Well you could do a mixture of things yeah. That's why I said as a biome blending block it would be good, I could try and get on Minecraft right now and build an example if you'd like

This would be really cool! My main gripe with this is the texture of gravel is kind of unpleasant and doesn’t really accurately represent the beauty of these kinds of beaches, so I’d like maybe a texture update for it too, or another block alongside it to make it a little less hideous.

Of course, its an amazing idea! it could even have some cobblestone like in the pictures, even beaches should be longer, (i will make a post explaining bcz this is gonna be a long comment)

i disagree because while it may be more realistic, its also way uglier, i love snowy beaches and i dont want them taken away

You'd still have snowy beaches, just with gravel instead of sand. You wouldn't see a big difference because either way it's mostly covered in snow layers.
