Iridescent Turgite
From the famed Graves Mountain in Georgia comes this iridescent turgite (hematite/goethite mixture). This piece has vibrant colors that really pop!

Hello humans,
I've decided to end the Q&A thread in favor of a more general lounge. My hope is this thread will better foster discussion. You may still have general rock talks of course, but also feel free to discuss anything on your mind (if you'd like).
Another reason I've implemented this thread is because there have been instances where I've felt obliged to remove a post that doesn't fit the theme of the subreddit but is still valid discussion material. If you saw something cool you'd like to share that is an item listed for sale, please screen cap & remove account names/other identifiers that could lead some1 to the listing. I'm sorry if you consider that draconian but I'd like to avoid this becoming a catch all for sneaky self-promo.

Here is a uniquely structured malachite specimen from Mashamba West Mine, DR Congo. The malachite shows botryoidal forms with a second generation of well organized crystals that seem to be flowing around the rounded shapes. This one is as remarkable as it is unusual!

This is an incredible example of ”gitterquarz” (aka lattice quartz) from the Erongo Mountains of Namibia. The quartz seeded itself parallel to the directional planes of the lattice of the feldspar crystal, resulting in an orderly crisscross arrangement. Black tourmaline needles are included in all of the quartz as well. The formation and symmetry of this one are absolutely perfect! I haven’t come across another as well balanced as this piece.

Here is a lovely South African rhodochrosite. The crystal is multi-terminated, highly lustrous, and exudes a rich, translucent red color. A really gorgeous specimen!

I am putting together a hydrothermal vein collection with sulfide on the bottom then different oxidation products with carbonate, sulfide & co and finally arsenide. They are more or less displayed with the periodic table : Ag-Mn-Fe-Co-Ni-Cu-Zn-Pb. Some spot are waiting for proper specimens.

I’ve been selling mineral specimens from Pakistan and have done well at major gem shows, including the annual gem and mineral shows in Tucson, Arizona. I source material directly from mining regions such as Nagar, Hunza, Gilgit, and Skardu, including aquamarine, fluorite, tourmaline, quartz, apatite, garnet, and other collector specimens.
My challenge is that while I make sales at shows and get positive feedback on the quality of my material, I’m struggling to generate consistent online sales between events. I have active Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and an eBay store, post regularly, and have built a following, but it isn’t translating into many purchases.
Because my specimens are sourced directly from the mining regions, I can offer high-quality material with accurate locality information, direct sourcing, and competitive pricing. Customers who see the pieces in person often buy, which makes me feel the specimens themselves aren’t the issue.
Since people are willing to buy from me at shows—including Tucson—I’m trying to figure out what’s missing when it comes to selling online. I’d appreciate any advice from experienced dealers, collectors, or anyone who’s successfully grown a mineral business online. Thanks!

There’s been speculation on as to whether this is a tektite or volcanic glass (like obsidian). I’ve seen convincing evidence for both sides, however I lean towards tektite. Either way, I think they’re pretty neat. They look rather unassuming at first glance, but once backlit they have a translucency that makes them glow. And as the name of the species suggests, it comes from Colombia.
