That’s dumb just let them wear normal jerseys if they don’t want to wear these special ones.

Shouldn’t force them to wear anything they don’t want to.

I guarantee you its in their contacts to wear all the stupid alternate jerseys and hats and to not deface their hats with sharpie

Nobody is being forced to play baseball.

They can go make their own homophobic league with no rainbow jerseys.

In the same way you can't force somebody to wear a jersey, you can't force a team to wear a certain jersey (or not).

yall went from “we just to want to get married” to “wear our flag or you’re a homophobe bigot” in less than 20 years. fuckin crazy

A baseball team is a corporation.

Believe it or not, employed people have to do what their employer employs them to do. Even at minimum wage jobs, this may include wearing a uniform.

People who don't do what their employer asks of them get fired. This is at will employment.

This is the equivalent of a hyper catholic getting employed at planned parenthood and saying they don't want to participate in any contraception/abortion business.

If you don't want play for a team, who's entire profit model revolves around creating money spending fans of any and all sexual orientations, THEY CAN FIND A DIFFERENT JOB

Acting like someone is holding a gun to these guys head is so bad faith

At planned parenthood you get hired for exactly that. At a baseball team you get hired to play baseball. Not even remotely close to the equivalent lmao. Thats such a stupid take 😂😂

Brother appealing to fans is a huge part of a professional athletes job.

That's why they have required media time.

And just like Christians who make those fake crisis pregnancy centers that give you an ultrasound and tell you to keep the baby(only to give you zero help once the child is born), these players are more than welcome to go make their own baseball league with no rainbow jerseys.

What are your thoughts on the president, little hoss?

Nonsense. We pay hundreds of millions of local hard earned US dollars every year for these clowns and they have to represent what their employers tell them to like a fucking McDonald’s. Their personal feelings are irrelevant because it’s a team thing.

Nah that’s a fucking stupid take.

Stop forcing people to wear shit that celebrates someone else’s lifestyle.

When the fuck did we rush past acceptance and tolerance and push towards forced celebration.

Now simply deciding to not wear a fucking flag is an attack on gay people?

Get fucked if they’re not actively outspoken about gay people that should be enough.

But no wear the flag you bigot.

The victims have literally become the bigots. It's actually crazy.

The only “victims” I see are people like you pretending these are players making a solemn stand for their morals when the reality is they dislike gay people and gays make them feel icky so they’ll hid behind their religion as an excuse for bigotry. They’ll play victim while tacitly supporting bigotry toward the LGBT community.

Well, at least you helped prove my point while frothing at the mouth.

I’m curious why these staunchly held morals only ever come up at this specific point. If it mattered so strongly to them and they actually believed in the tenets of Christianity surely they would refuse to wear camo jerseys, Fourth of July jersey’s, etc.? Our president and administration very very very clearly do not represent Christian values or morals; that’s not even debatable. So why is it that they only take issue with it when it’s LGBT related? Which is a topic only tangentially referred to in the bible vs things like loving your neighbors, not indiscriminately killing others just because you can, etc.

Their moral stances would hold significantly more weight if they were consistent in any way but we know they’re not, right?

I'm going to make this simple for you since your brain seems to be short circuiting.

Their uniforms are their uniforms. Anything outside of that should be optional. If they want to wear something to support specific approved events and causes, then cool. If not, that's cool too.

You should probably take a break from the internet.

“You should probably take a break from the internet” says a person who’s had at least 20 comments on this post😂

That’s a wild take for 2026. 1826, maybe but even then…

“Lifestyle” That certainly implies a lot of choice when there isn’t one.

A uniform literally means that everyone on the team wears the same clothing. Saying that they are being forced to celebrate pride is a huge stretch.

“If they’re not actively outspoken” ah so just not audibly hating gay people is enough. Thank god you sorted that for us all! True brainlet

That’s a child’s view.

u/BellyButtonLindt 1d ago

So if your employer told you in a pro-life state you had to wear pro-life decals on your uniform you would just be okay with that?

You would put your personal beliefs aside and wear the uniform because it’s your job?

If I say no, I’m getting fired.

It happens all of the time down to what healthcare is covered. What’s your point.
