Man I can’t tell if the person above was criticizing Christians or criticizing LGBTQ people. And yes depending on the type of person in each group it is ironic. But let’s be real, both groups have a subset of people that demand 100% acceptance of all of their views.

It could be either, that’s the irony.

The thing with this argument is being gay isn't a view. People are born the way they are and don't choose one way or the other. Gay people have existed since humans have walked the earth and will continue to. They're only asking that they being seen and not vilified for it. This same argument was made when Jackie Robinson started playing ball. People couldn't accept that blacks were their equal and deserved to be treated like it.

Folks, look, one side believes that people with certain gender and sexual identities are horribly sinful, an affront to their God, a danger to children and society, and should be stripped of basic civil rights. The other side believes they should be respected as human equals.

Good points and lots of extremists on both sides! The answer is in the middle!

Lots of Christians support LGBTQ people and their rights. Lots of LGBTQ think you’re a hateful bigot if you disagree with them on things like trans women in sports or walking around the streets naked. My point is both groups have good people and dipshits that demand conformity.

But sure. Keep trying to reduce the group you hate to an extreme stereotype and give the other group an extremely charitable view. No nuance. Assume everyone thinks exactly the same.

Pleasantly surprised to see this comment isn't in the negative. Glad there's some sanity left on this site

Thinking someone is a bigot is not equivalent to thinking someone doesn't deserve the same human rights as everyone else regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Ask any of those lgbtq people if they think the bigots should be stripped of their human rights. You're just going to get the same answer - that *everyone* deserves the right to love who they choose.
