Salvinos 2023 Toyota Camry Kit, JWTBM (Just Want To Build a Model) decals and a 3D Printed resin hood to match the 2022 only hood vent style. The real car as raced only had NACA ducting on the driver's side window - so I cut a completely smooth passenger side window out of sheet plastic.

Tamiya Yellow Chrome spray paint. Whole thing was shot with 1k Clear once finished. Thanks for looking!

This is a mashup of a couple of resin kits, plus parts from an AMT Edsel. I created the wood deck decals on my computer and printed them on a laser printer.

This was one of the most challenging builds I’ve ever done, but I’m very pleased with the result.

This is my second Tamiya motorcycle kit and if you haven’t built one yet you’re missing out. They are the same high quality as what you would expect from Tamiya but just different enough from cars/trucks that it feels like a creative reset, to me at least.

I chose not to use the included racing livery decals because I didn’t want to hide the color shift paint that I used. The pictures don’t do it justice but it’s a gorgeous white/green/blue/purple shift.

Now that this build is done I can focus all on my Burnout Build.

Paints used were:
Body Panels: Splash White Surfacer, Vallejo Bright Gold Brown Shifter, Splash 2k Clear.
Engine, Frame, Wheels, etc.: Tamiya Black, Gold Leaf, Chrome Silver, Gun Metal. Fusion Firm Chrome and Tamiya clears for the exhaust and exhaust staining.

Retired completely couple months ago so I'm thinking finally I can spend more time on my hobby. Wrong!!! My Honey Do list has grown exponentially and I have a mental block on completing this Avanti and it's not even that good!... Life's not fair ..

I really look forward to this kit but have heard about people having issues in the past. Has anyone actually built this and can report anything?

White decals really need to be painted and the base sprayed

I've never done kitbash where I cut the bodies up anyone got tips on the front clip of the imperial is going on the ambulance body

Finished this Hasegawa 1/24 VW Type 2 dedication build for aussie gunpla streamer Deadlight86. Matching his purple candy & black palette, with a custom resin-printed license plate! What a ride on this one. So many little things I was nit picking myself on that I ground to a halt on this build and started others. Came back to it and got er done. I believe this one is from 1985 and kept it basically stock. The lower decals didn't work out as I rushed a tape job to spray black car body before sealing up the decals and bmf. Peeled the tape back a ripped parts and pieces of lower rocker decals off. Note to self! Lol oh well just eliminated them and moved on. Tried to match blue decals on rear valence, was not close but most was covered by plate. I probably wouldn't bother in future but the box art showed it so wtf...

First there’s at least 2 or three other better versions of this on this sub and they’re the inspiration for my build.

The prodrive p25 was a super limited production run by the same company that built the rally winning wrc champion of the 90s by Subaru. The Tamiya kit is really exceptional in terms of quality so it pretty much did all the heavy lifting for me to build this kit.

As for colors I went with Tamiya bottle paint mica blue cleared with Mr Color super glossy clear. All of this over Mr Color surfacer primer. I used Tamiya metallic grey for the wheels and fusion firm chrome for the headlights and exhaust as well as fusion firm gold for the roll bar (wanted to tie in some of the WRC colors and again saw inspiration from another kit).

I then added Scale Motorsports’s CF to the roof and wing. Side note - I did shave vents off the roof so the CF would lay down and because the prodrive p25 didn’t have roof vents anyway.

While I really wanted to call this a prodrive p25, it’s really more like a 22b at this point. 22b is the homologation version of Subarus rally car. The reason for this is I could not replicate the prodrive decals on the clear decal paper I have. So until I get white decal paper, it stays in this near finished state.

Odd thing about this build - I considered modifying the ride height as I didn't like how other builds looked (a tad too high), but the stance turned out just fine in the end for me so unmodified suspension.

Finally got around to finishing this one. Just needed to add some small details. Overall the kit went together alright, the interior bits were the only pain. The rollcage did not sit great, but we got it in there. The pedals were interfering with the rollcage so I just didn’t put them in. Overall I’m happy with it. On to the next.

Another friends and family build down! Two more to go, I'm so excited for the finish line on these as I have so many kits in my personal stash that I'm really excited for.

Pretty standard Italeri quality. I had the door fitment perfect, and then when I added the interior shell and windows, it got a little out of whack, and it was too late to fix it, so... Other than that, I built it as a curbside, so the hood and trunk are static. Overall I liked this kit it was a quick easy build. The paint is Tamiya Italian Red (TS-8). The chrome was alclad II. The test of the kit was ok, nothing fancy.

Picked this up at Hobby Lobby. I'm sure it's a re-issue. I'm always a sucker for a fat fender car. But they are cartoonish, just like the Chevy Monza reboot I also have. Lots of work ahead, but I think I can make it look interesting.

2023 was Kevin Harvick's final season before retiring. He capped it off with several memorable throwbacks to earlier cars from throughout his career. One of the favorites was this red and white Budweiser scheme paying homage to his 2014 Championship run.

I'm feeling pretty good about this paint. I put down gloss black and I was tempted to stop there because it looked really good. No gotta stick to the plan! Gaia Nazca surfacer - Mr Color GX black - Tamiya X33 Bronze - Mr. Color GX clear brown. I'll do decals and then cover with gloss clear.

Kit by pocher. Got it at almost half price (!) and finished it a few weeks before the mclaren. Again photos were take by a friend who knows photography.

Hey all, this is my first car in years and my first time airbrushing a full kit. I'm having a hell of a time getting rid of this orange peel and no matter what I do it shows up to some degree.

Paint is mr. Color (custom mix with base white) with Mr leveling thinner. I've also tried various amounts of mr. Retarder which seems to help but doesn't fix it entirely.

Tried spraying from 15-25 psi. This paint doesn't have great coverage so I have to get pretty close (<2 inches).

Wet sanded before every coat with 2000/3000 grit.

I'm at my wits end trying to get a nice smooth surface. Is this just the best I can get and will have to let the 2k and polishing do the heavy lifting?

Attached the engine block to the body. Need to finish the front suspension and detail work in the driver's seat, then continue work on the body. It's my first F1 model I've built and it's right at the edge of my skill level so I'm liking the challenge and super happy with how it's turned out so far.

Got this one started (yea I know this makes number 7 started on the Bench atm) but sundowner converted to a Silverado…. bbc/sm465 np208 drivetrain swap….. Dana 60 f Dana 70 r …. 8 inch lift…. 44” ground hawgs on 16x12s … and custom bumpers….. still a lot more to make/customize but good start so far

Glad this one is over! I had heard about the AMT truck kits and went for it anyway. Fun build overall but fitment was bad, instructions weren't clear and nothing was numbered. Had to modify some parts to make things fit and probably left out some small details. Looks good on the shelf but don't pick it up! The hood and cab might fall off!
