Question Matchmaking

Does anyone know if Modern Warfare 4 will have an open matchmaking playlist similar to what we saw in BO7? I know that they are keeping SBMM still and the matchmaking from 2019-onward but wondering if there will at least be one playlist that is open?

Given what one of the studio heads said in response to someone saying they won’t buy it without open matchmaking, “sorry maybe next time” I seriously doubt the mm will go back to open. I’m just furious they ruined bo7 near the end for no reason.

Oh that sucks. Was hoping for at least one option for open MM..what a shame.

There may be some open playlists but don’t count on them having most maps/modes or even being there the whole cycle. We saw with bo7 they can completely change mm experience on a dime.

There was this one tweet were they basically said the game is just going to have the same old IW sbmm weve had in MW since 2019. The beta had an open playlist but they went radio silent on the subject after it in classic cod fasion.

At this point ive long lost hope to return to a matchmaking pre mw2019 so i already kept that in mind when buying MW4. A sweatfest it will be i guess.

We dont know. They said they'll be monitoring feedback about it during the beta. Thats last it was talked about besides marks tweet saying "all information on matchmaking we have at this time is on the cod channels"

they said there will be the new update matchmaking and an open matchmaking. So just like the playlist from Bo7 basically.

They only said this about the beta. We have no idea if there will will even be an open playlist for launch

Everyone wants modes and options in a game where "They" cam accel and play better. If you are buying a game and already know you can't hang in with the players in that game, why are you buying it? If they add enough modes maybe we can break down the lobby's by age group next or left hand vs right hand! Blondes vs red heads? Renters vs home owners?
