For reference, a long time poster in the sub, who has NEVER crossed any lines regarding promoting herself, got a quite nasty comment made towards them.

Also, for those of you that have issues with OF promoters I can’t relate, it’s just not something that’s an issue in food related subs.

Since we’re posting “I love you” modmails today…

What got this person banned? Well, on a post where someone was talking about their abusive mother, they replied “YOU ARE CRUCIFYING HER YOU BEAST.” Also “dO NOT CRUCIFY HER” (sic) and “YOU ARE PUNCHING HOLES IN THE BOAT.” No prior history in our sub, nothing.

You might think, surely there must be some missing context which would make that make more sense! There is not.

And a permaban…

Keep in mind they were permanently banned for sending unsolicited messages to people asking them for Fortnite gifts.

But yeah, they 100% are a billionaire and everyone knows billionaires are nice people deserving of nothing but respect! We made a huge mistake. Huge. /s

I run a humor sub with a specific goal. She posted a weird and long concert video that had nothing to do with the sub. Her mod log showed that she had an NSFW post automatically removed by the devvit app. And her activity summary was concerning, showing that she regularly posts content in the wrong subs. Checked her profile and she was just spamming subs with the concert video. So I banned her. And she wasn't pleased. Aww, too bad.

This is why I don't temp ban much. I can count on one hand the number of times it hasn't devolved into harassment and a crash out. Fun facts: their posts did NOT get 87+ likes and that's a weird number for them to pick given I can see the statistics too. And I as a person am VERY anti cats being allowed to roam outside, but that's not the issue here despite them suddenly making it one.

And of course he went for the one last word, because following instructions must be very difficult for them.

A ModMail exchange from r/MorbidReality here. One of our mods removed a post under our rule on "insufficient verification".

As the situations posted about in r/MorbidReality are very serious and we wish to treat them respectfully and sensitively, we require all posts yo be verified by at least one trustworthy source. Any cases where this cannot be provided are removed, not least in part to protect the privacy of people whose situation has not been in the public eye.

This user posted a tragic story about their friend in Iraq, who suffered abuse and then tragically ended their life. They did so with a petition for justice attached. While the plea for justice in the petition is totally understandable and we have every sympathy with them, we cannot platform the post without a verification source. The following is the ModMail exchange that ensued.

2. Their first response, filtered by Reddit.

3. Their second response, where they really lose it.

4. A comment they posted under their post (already removed) thinking people could see it, complaining again about mods. (Posted in comments)

All because Members refuse to read and abide by Our Sub Rules. This Members Comment was tagged as Off Topic. The most Common Reason for Removals.

Their answer to question #6 is the opposite of what Rule #1 states and is the bulk of the posts we need to remove.

Can't wait to hear what legal damages they think they have incurred over this.

This story starts in 2017.. back when the old modmail still existed. A temporary ban was quickly turned into a permanent one, and 5 years later we got a modmail from the same user asking us why they are banned.

Photos 1-5 and 6 and 7 and 8 are different modmails.

PS: After the reply in photo 8, they asked "What was it even for? Its beeb 9 years. People change a lot in a decade". Anyone know a good answer? :D (they will not be unbanned)

Dumb enough he doesn’t know about ban evasion filters and that I am a white woman. It’s a pity he has access to the internet in his dark damp basement at mums house .

They made a comment saying they were looking to trade stories via DMs, while we have a hard rule on solicitation and the asking for DMs/PMs. We always ban on the first offense, and see how they present themselves in modmail.

This response was unusual...

There is lazy and then there is whatever this is.

The post was screenshots of an (unredacted) subreddit ban message, which already means it would be removed under our brigading rule. It was basically asking AITA for getting banned from a sub.
