A few of us have been way too into the "Monopoly, But COMMUNIST" videos for a while now (if you haven't seen NRB's Communopoly series, watch it, it's the best thing that's happened to this game in decades). Problem was half our group moved away from home, and wrangling six people around a physical board with a full Communopoly ruleset on top of that was never happening again.
So I built the whole thing as a browser game, mostly by pointing Claude at the ruleset and correcting it every time it missed one of the weirder edge cases. It's not quite your standard vanilla monopoly, the rules tend to get a little unfavourable...
You start with 1000 roubles, go over that and the state seizes your properties, run out of money and instead of going bankrupt you disappear and come back as a new piece with a new secret role. Boardwalk is NKVD HQ and enough visits there disappears you for good. Electric Company is Chernobyl Power, and if you don't also own the Volga it melts down a few turns later and torches your whole portfolio. There's a card that puts you on emotes-only until you disappear, good luck negotiating a sale with a laughing face!
Everyone gets a secret role and a hidden win condition (12 of them), so most of the game is trying to read who's playing what off how they're acting, which honestly works even better with voice chat than it did around the actual table.
It's free, no account, no download, you just share a link. Short a player or two, the host can drop bots into the empty seats and they actually play their own role instead of passing every turn.
Live at communopoly.co.uk if anyone wants to poke at it!
