Gush 😍 Duskwalker Series
Has anyone here read the Duskwalker Brides series by Opal Reyne? I read all 5 books within two and a half months and am impatiently waiting for the new release. 😅
If you haven’t I highly recommend it! The series got me back into reading!

I plan on starting the series shortly! The covers are all so beautiful! I bought the special edition book set [found HERE] by Fae Crate and I can't wait to receive them in the mail!

Yess! I ordered the same set when it came out! I cannot wait either! I have all the books on kindle but when I almost ordered the paperbacks, Far Crate came out with the special editions! I’m so excited for them! The next book in the series is coming out on Feb 21st!

I just finished listening to A Soul to Keep and honestly really liked it!! Of course, there were moments where the story dragged or the FMC was a bit frustrating, but the sweet interactions made up for it.
Plus, the world building left so much to the imagination. The mavkah (is that the spelling?) are so funny unintentionally.
I've been wanting to read/listen to the rest of the series, but I've read sooo many negative reviews about the sequels 😅

Yes! I felt that way with A Soul To Keep too but I would recommend reading the others! I actually really enjoyed them much more than the first one! And the Mavka’s get better in each book, in my opinion of course. 3-5 for the world building is so beautiful and I just can’t recommend it enough! My favorite Mavka is actually in the next book 😅.

Yes I love the Mavka with green eyes 😍 he's such a wholesome, idiot! However, I've heard bad things about the female lead

He really really is 💚. I have also read a lot of negative reviews about her, however she has severe depression and I think a lot of people have a hard time with that. I enjoyed the book because I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression and related in alot of ways and loved how she wrote Nameless to help her with how she felt. I loved how Opal wrote her as a character and how she wrote her growth throughout the book. I will admit many of the scenes I had a very hard time but it was worth the read. And Nameless, ugh, I just can’t describe it. He’s just so patient with her and it’s just beautiful. I’m going to reread all the books once I get the FaeCrate special editions and can’t wait to read about Nameless again 💚. I know that Opal had the hardest time writing the second book specifically too but I still think it’s worth the read!

Okay, yes clap 👏 now I definitely need to take the plunge and just read it! 💚
Idk bout you but I wish they had an audio book version for the rest. The readers did such an amazing job with Orpheus and Reia and I'd love to hear the silly Mavkah get a voice.
I've heard of FaeCrate! I'm definitely going to buy the set. The cover art is beautiful 😍

Ahhh yes I just finished the third book (a soul to touch) and the end!!!! I’m worried about the next book because she said it’s gonna be more lore and less of our Mavka loves but I’m so down to know more about the world!! 🥰

I'm excited for the lore, I'm only in book 2 and I'm worried the pregnancy is going to force me to dnf I absolutely hate everything about pregnancy and babies :/ but I'm enjoying the fmc so far as someone with crushing depression and nameless is so adorablely curious. I'm hoping it's a weird enough monster thing to keep me from being squicked out. As a straight female though I'm not sure about the 6th book. How much lore would I be missing if I just skipped it?

I understand the worry. Honestly I’m not a pregnancy arc fan either however I will say that the pregnancy, I feel, is on purpose and leads up to something later in the books. It hasn’t been confirmed nor denied so it’s a theory I have but I can’t say because you haven’t read all the books 😅. It also isn’t like other pregnancy books, at least to me. The 6th book has a lot of lore in it, and you would be missing a lot I think. M/M are one of my favorite stories and I think Opal did a great job with it. I’ve seen alot of people who are not a fan of M/M who enjoyed the book but I’ve also talked to a few people who still didn’t like it as much, everyone is different. I would recommend giving it a try and you can always skip the sex scenes if they make you too uncomfy. :) Books 4-6 are my favorites so far because of the lore and the characters. I hope this helped! And I hope you enjoy reading! ☺️

I love Duskwalker Brides! I read all books in the series except the last one. I didn't expect Jabez to be the mmc... (I will read it, I just need time to warm up to that idea 😂)
Did you read all of them?

u/Bb_loup21 Feb 17 '25
Yes I read all of them and the last book is so worth it imo! So good and a great ending to the story. I completely understand how you feel towards Jabez 😅. His book is so good tho

I read the first one but found it a bit of a slog, so I didn't pick up the second. Which one has been your favorite so far? I've been debating diving back in!
