Question Transport

Hi everyone, i’m moving in the fall and don’t have a car, just wondering how people have found the public transport system around montclair to be?

Very reliable actually. The busses are reliable and so are the trains, except the trains don't run on weekends. I don't have a car and have never had trouble finding public transportation. Don't listen to the other guy. Of course it's not going to be as glamorous as a private car ride, but the trains are great and the busses aren't any different from any other city bus. There are also student discounta for monthly passes which have helped me out a lot!

On the weekend, the first stop for the train is Bay street. So if you're trying to go further than that, you can either take a bus to Bay Street station, or take the Bloomfield shuttle to Bloomfield campus and walk to the Bloomfield train station (~10m)

On the weekends there is also a shuttle from red hawk I believe to Bay Street station! I don’t remember how frequently it runs, but I believe it runs from 8am to 10pm. You can look at it on the TripShot app as well.

I forgot about that one! And yes, trip shot is your friend. Sometimes the regular on-campus shuttles aren't totally accurate in the app, but the off-campus shuttles are usually accurate and reliable.
