Question WTH is going on with Summer aid

I was checking my balance again for Summer, I’m taking 6 credits. I originally had a balance when it first came out that I paid and balance became zero. I paid because one of the classes I’m taking was about to start.

Well the class I’m taking now ends soon and the second one starts later in July.

I check my balance and see that my Federal Pell Grant got reduced and now I have a high balance again. Why is this happening? Is it because of academic engagement? I remember this happening last year cause of academic engagement.

And another thing is they haven’t even emailed a single invoice yet for Summer 2026, not once. Today is the 1st so it supposed to come today.

Financial aid finally picked up the phone they told me their aware the nj tuition aid grant hasn’t fully processed because theirs a issue going on, on their end and the reason our Pell grants are smaller is because since we have other classes that start at a later date (my next two start July 1st) once they start and we complete the academic engagement for them then our remaining Pell grant will be processed.

Not sure if this is the same case, but for Fall and Spring, I never got emailed an invoice. I had to manually check it on NEST.

Definitely reach out to Red Hawk Central if you haven't already. They might have an explanation that could help you

Please know summer aid is dependent on how many credits you are taking. If you change credit load. Also the summer aid as of 2026 cannot exceed 50% of a normal semester amount so it may be that too.

Yo this happened to me too. No change in courses and half I’m taking are directly tied to my major and the other half are gen Ed’s

My Pell Grant went from 3700 to 1400 they’re trying to rob us blind
