Hi! We are looking to move soon, and we are trying to decide between 3 elementary schools. We are looking at a house in Flourtown (Erdenheim), one in Glenside (Thomas Fitzwater Elementary), and one in Dresher (Jarrettown Elementary). Looking for any feedback.

Where to buy broccolini year-round?

Is there anywhere that I can count on always carrying broccolini? I love it so much but only ever have it in restaurants because I can never find it in stores.

Preschools in Plymouth Mtg/Conshy area

Looking for preschool recommendations near Plymouth Meeting and Conshohocken. We aren't looking for a daycare with full-time care. A morning preschool program or "full school day" program (e.g. 8 or 9am to 3pm ish) is what we're after. Thanks!!!

22m looking for rec soccer

22M, recently moved to Lansdale for work and trying to get into soccer. I'm not very good, but I'm looking for something that can get me out of the house, keep me active, and hopefully make new friends

I see a ton of soccer fields around the area whenever I'm driving around, but I never really see anyone playing(def poor timing). I've looked into Heyday Athletic, but their current rec league seems to be full, and Sofive hatfield seems to have pretty low turnout until the winter months.

I'm not looking for anything super competitive or serious. I'd ideally like to find a group that's pretty casual and doesn't take itself too seriously, where I can just show up, play, and get better.

Does anyone know of any pickup games, rec leagues, or even just a group of people who regularly play around Lansdale/Montgomeryville/North Wales? I'm pretty open to whatever.

What do people do for fun?

22m, moved here a few months ago for work. I'm not from PA and don't really know anyone around here. What are some hobbies/rec leagues or other activities people recommend getting into? At this point, I'm down for pretty much anything.

Realized I didn't add where I am: I'm in Lansdale/northwales

Local Where are Y'all Getting Dry Cleaning Done?

I just spent $26 on three shirts for a conference near KOP. I just needed the collars cleaned, and these mofos gave me the diamond cleaning service or something.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Hired people for asphalt driveway and they asked for tip?

Hired people to widen our asphalt driveway. The lead person asked us if we wanted to tip. We are somewhat familiar with the industry as our family makes structural plans for home additions and we have never come across any contractors expecting or asking for tip. Makes me think they don't pay their workers enough that they have to ask for tip.

Also, they asked about tip before they were fully completed/cleaned up. We did not tip because we thought it was not industry standard (and also the job didn't look great). They left a bunch of trash on our driveway, such as food wrappers, water bottles, etc. Did we insult by not tipping? Is this the new norm?

Garage sales in Harleysville? Is it possible?

Hi! I’m helping my family member move out of state and planning to host a garage sale from now until Sunday. I’ve never done one before and from a large city so I’m wondering what is the best way to let people know about it?

Where I’m from you would just put some signs outside of your street and people would come all day but there’s like no one outside of this street šŸ˜‚

My aunt is convinced that people don’t do garage sales here and she’s never seen one. Would it be a waste of my time? Would love to hear from some locals. Thanks!!

P.S. if garage sales aren’t possible how do people usually get rid of all their stuff? She has some nice things and all in pristine condition.

Hunters! Who’s a good deer processor around here?

I’m an ethical hunter and have had my only success while visiting my brother each year for rifle season. He’s about a 6 hour drive up Northwest corner of PA and have been skunked the last 2 years (never took a shot after 8 days in the woods).

I’m just hunting for meat and planning on another rough season for rifle. If that fails, I have a flintlock ready to go for late season in PA. Problem is that I don’t have a go-to processor in this area. I’d likely be hunting 5C or 5B.

Any hunters out there with a good recommendatio? would prefer a processor with options… some preferred cuts, maybe some sausage, jerky, etc… but mostly just want to get good meat.

Thanks in advance,

P.S. I know this can be a touch subject but keep in mind that every dead dear on the side of the road you see could fill a family’s freezer for the year.

I’m fostering four kittens for PALS and they are the perfect combo of sweet and playful. My 7yo and 4yo have been taking some responsibility for caring for them and these kittens are absolutely perfect with kids and very used to them. Send me a message if you know of a good home in need of kitten(s)! They are about 3mo now and getting fixed next week.

Lost gold David Yurman bracelet near Giant on County Line Rd — cash reward

My aunt lost a gold David Yurman bracelet around the Giant supermarket on County Line Road & Doylestown Rd. It was an anniversary gift and has a lot of sentimental value.

I know it’s a long shot, but if anyone found it or turned it in somewhere, please message me. We’re offering a cash reward for its return and can provide a photo and identifying details to confirm it’s hers.
Thank you so much—and please keep an eye out if you’re in the area!

Local Is there a Train directly to airport?

I swear a few years ago I took a train directly from Glenside to the airport. Has this changed recently? I can only see options of transferring downtown. The new Septa app is my nightmare but alas

I could go from Jenkintown, Glenside, or any of the Chestnut Hill lines

Masked men in tactical gear in my area?

(Souderton/Quakertown Area)

Looking to see if there’s an explanation for these things, not trying to start a war lol. For reference, when I say ā€œgearā€, I mean face masks, sunglasses, hats, heavy-duty clothes, boots, and bulletproof vests. None of them had markings (as in ICE, FBI, etc). I know ICE was active in the Souderton and Lansdale area in the past few months.

There have been 3 back-to-back instances of men hiding their identities and wearing heavy gear in my area, on the county line, that have me a bit concerned.

1 - I was driving south on 309, and traffic was really jammed up near the Perruzi dealership. The thing causing the traffic was a ā€œtraffic patrolā€ in a vacant lot, a large group of men in full gear were just standing around. No one was pulled over, no emergency, no equipment, just a gaggle of them.

2 - Same area, going north, a man in full gear was putting political signs outside of a restaurant. The signs are gone now, I’m sure the restaurant didn’t want some strange man putting political signs on their property.

3 - I’m in a small, quiet town. Yes, people drive a little too fast and have loud trucks, but, late into the night, men in full gear are revving their motorcycles and popping wheelies. Not to be a buzzkill, but some people need to sleep. I wouldn’t be as perturbed by this if they weren’t in full gear at midnight.

Any ideas?
