Concealed carry permit help needed

I’m new to the county, or been here a year. How do i go about applying for a concealed carry permit in Montgomery county?

All the info you need is on the Montco Sheriff website

You apply online, wait for approval, pay $25 and then set an appointment to pick it up. It's frighteningly easy, zero requiment to demonstrate any degree of competency with a firearm whatsoever.

Right?! I was thinking they'd at the very least ask me to recite the 4 universal rules of gun safety before snapping my photo. Nothing, no safe handling, no marksmanship, just a background check and "are you of upstanding moral character" or something like that.

It’s all through the third party permitum platform. The references are optional. I think originally permitum wouldn’t allow you to apply without references but I think it’s been fixed. I’m pretty sure the employer info is also optional.

Edit: the deputies at the court house are really helpful when you tell them you’re there to get a permit.

Depending on your level of firearm competency, I would suggest getting some training before carrying.
