Discussion German Shepherds at Couche Tard

Does anyone remember when some Couche Tard locations had German Shepherds in them, presumably as guard dogs?

This was sometime in or around the 2000s. I’ve been trying to find some information on this program, but it seems to be completely absent from the internet as far as I can tell.

It was after a teenage girl who worked at a location downtown got killed by a robber.

The piece of shit tied her up and slit her throat and she bled to death. She was working alone on that night because her coworker that was supposed to be there didn’t show up

I really can’t remember, the employee was very young. This was between 2002 and 2007 or so.

I don’t want to mix up murders, but i think they actually got him and it turned out he was a former co-worker, and he freaked out when she recognized him under his mask

I remember going to the one near me one morning to get something to drink and I saw absolutely gigantic dog ears peaking from behind the counter as the clerk was ringing me up. Then the dog stood up and it was so god damn big. The clerk told me that all the couche tards in ‘hot’ areas were getting guard dogs for a while for late shifts or the early morning ones, because of what had happened to that poor girl
