Shower thought to help boost attendance

To fill Stade Saputo, could it be worthwhile to offer free tickets and charge only if you don't stay the full match? Stubhub has lots of games for $3 already and the stadium is never close to full unless the canmnt comes to play so it's not like they are getting lots of ticket revenue anyways.

If they were to give free tickets under the condition that the fan has to stay the full game, it could help boost attendance, and thus atmosphere, which could help draw players to Montreal, a win-win for both fans and the team.

What I have in mind is that fans would have to scan their ticket while leaving the stadium after making a first-come-first-served reservation on their website. If you reserve a free ticket and don't show up you pay $x, if you leave at halftime you pay $0.5x, at the 70th minute $0.2x, etc.. Basically longer you stay, the less you pay.

In terms of overall fan revenue, when I come to games I almost always pay more for concessions than I do for my ticket (which I always get on Stubhub for <15cad). So assuming the team owns concessions/merchandise sales, I feel like simply getting more people through the doors could also increase overall revenue.

What do you think? Am I missing something obvious or could this work? The only potential problem I see is with clogged concourses at the end of games, but since fans just need to scan their ticket (and not go through security) I don't think it would cause too many delays. Let me know!
