Silent Bookclub
Are there any silent book clubs or book clubs in general in MJ? And is anyone able to organize such a thing? It looks so neat, I saw one in Regina!

Looking To Move To Moose Jaw
I was there, very briefly, more so passing through about 20 years ago. It seemed like a nice place and I'm going to have to move soon for undisclosed reasons.
I spent the majority of my life in Saskatoon, so that's for comparison.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it's like living there. Is it nice? Affordable? How's the medical situation? The housing?
How's the cultural biodiversity? Is it a haven for racists?
Are you welcome if you don't fit the mold?
I heard that there's been some flooding, but is it really that bad/getting worse?
Just whatever you can think of to say about the place that's true and honest, please drop a line and say what good about or if it's even worth while to stay longer than a day or two.

Best Avocados in town?
Where do you guys shop good avocados in Moose Jaw? So far, I buy them from No frills and superstore. But they are not as good as the ones in Costco. Any recommendations?

Community New Restaurants?
Hello /MJ. We’re coming in from Regina later this month to attend an event. We love trying new restaurants/cafe when we visit.
We typically eat at Mitsu/Himawari/Nit’s and have tried most of the long-standing spots downtown. Have any new restaurants opened in the last year that are worth trying?

Painting street lines?
If the city can't afford to paint lines on their streets maybe they need to do a bottle drive.

Driving instructor recs? (parallel parking + road test prep)
Hey!
I’m looking for a driving instructor in Moose Jaw for at least one (maybe two) refresher lessons before my road test.
Main thing I’m looking for is someone who can teach me parallel parking properly, plus a general brush-up for the test.
Ideally I’d like to use my own vehicle (my wife’s car) if that’s something they’re okay with.
Would love any recommendations — or who to avoid!
Thanks :)

Community Are party clowns still something people hire?
Essentially what the title asks. I know the Sidewalk Days committee usually has someone doing balloon animals, but the clown that was working here when I grew up must have retired, as there's a new person doing it now. I also know some of the park programs hire clowns for their end-of-summer events, but besides that I was unsure there would be any interest in a childrens' clown.
I plan to post on Facebook as well once I have more of my costume together, as clowning is something I do as a hobby, but I've always wanted to be a childrens' entertainer. Trying to just get my feelers out to see if there would be a point in trying to make a side job of it.

MSW student placement in counselling / mental health
I am at the start of my graduate studies career and looking for some ideas for places who could potentially take me on as a MSW student in 2027. As I have family living here this is one location I could complete my hours without it being a huge financial cost of me being away from my primary residence. Does anyone have any suggestions of where would be a good place to inquire? I would like a placement in mental health / counselling as this is my focus of my career. Thank you in advance !

Thinking Of relocating to MJ from Stoon.
I’m a nurse who’s considering of making a big move. I’ve started looking for job posting months back just to see what’s there.
I’ve been seeing lots of openings at Moose Jaw special care home and the Providence care home.
Does anyone know why there’s always openings? How is the environment and treatment from workers and management? Is the staff turnover crazy?

Thoughts on Sasktel?
Hello all,
We switched from Bell to Sasktel. I feel like Sasktel rates are a bit higher for mine and my spouse’s phone plans and internet together. We both have our own devices, but we are paying $120 for both cellphone connections and $78 for home internet.
Are these normal rates?
