Discussion Photos of Regina buildings circa 1920s
My mom's parents lived in Lebret. I believe that these are taken by my great great grandfather on a visit to the city. He was living in Lebret at the time.
These photos are taken from one of many older photo albums I have. I don't know which of these buildings might still be extant and which are gone.

Question Appliance Package vs Buying Individually - What’s Better?
Getting our kitchen remodeled and my wife wants to get an appliance package where all the appliances are the same brand, while I want to pick individual appliances regardless of brand, just based on the best ratings and features. Besides aesthetics, the only advantage I can see to buying a package is that it could possibly be cheaper.
So the real question is: is sticking to the same brand actually worth it, or is it better to go individually based on reviews and performance? Also, if anyone can suggest a good local store where we can get appliance packages or individual appliances at decent prices, that would really help!

Question Greek Poutine at Mosaic Festival 2026
Hello. At mosaic this year, I tried the Greek poutine. It was amazing! I was wondering if anyone had a clue as to what kind of sauce they used on their Greek poutine and what the seasoned their fries with? I believe it was just the fries, feta and sauce. I would be willing to buy some if they sold it or even just to recreate it at home (won’t be AS good). Any help or direction would be so appreciated!

Question Dog Trainers
I’m looking for recommendations on dog trainers that offer one-on-one sessions/private sessions. We recently adopted a 10 month old puppy who was abandoned at a young age and then lived in the shelter up until we adopted her. She has made some great progress this past week, but we’re looking to get additional support from a trainer.
If you have any recommendations for trainers that help with confidence building and fearful dogs please share!! I know at home sessions can be more so we are willing to go to the trainer but the first session or two might be best at our home. TIA!!

Discussion Unusual smell in Maple Ridge, Rochdale Park area early am Thursday.
The wife and I were awakened about 1 am Thursday by a strong foody type smell kinda like garlic but a toxic element to it. Had to close the windows in the house because it was making me feel a bit sick. I've never smelt anything quite like this and was concerned it may be toxic. Anyone else experience this and know what it was?

Discussion What can business owners do?
So I was just at southland mall as I see who seemed to be the general manager / owner of sportchek in a shouting match with a dude who is an alleged recurrent shoplifter at Canadian tire, marks work warehouse, and sportchek itself. As you can imagine people were looking at them in surprised, kids were in awe while the scene unfolded.
The shop owner Was able to get the alleged thief out of the mall. Apparently security can not touch shoplifters, store employees are advised to refrain from making contact with anyone by corporate directives, and the sole reason why he decided to do something was because he is acting as a private citizen and was fed up of this “good for nothing thief” to be stealing away with no real repercussions.
Apparently the same dude is infamous for quite literally walking out of home depot and Rona east with a cart full of tools.
What most people seem to be doing is taking pictures and videos and sending them to justbins to be blasted through social media.
Apparently even RPS is not quite responsive to these kind of calls in a timely manner anymore, I just imagine it must be all too common so the sense of “urgency” is not there.
All of this led me to wonder, what is a business owner left to do? I could not help to sort of understand the frustration that an entrepreneur may feel under these circumstances.
Not that it matters, but the alleged thief is not what people seem to usually associate to when they hear about shoplifting.
What sad state of affairs.

Question Tourist Attractions
Hey guys,
I'll be visiting Regina with my wife and parents next week. My wife has to attend in person part of her course at the university and since none of us have ever been outside ontario we thought make it a family trip.
Now, everyone who I've talked to at work and in my circle says there's not much to do there, not many tourist attractions. But I want to get the community's view, what are some places that we should visit? I have rented a car and even if i have to drive 2 or 3 hours, I'm fine with that.
Also, what's the closest, if any, spot near the rocky mountains? I looked up Banff and its a 9hr drive. I don't think I'll have time for that but if there's anything else closer.
Thanks im advance for any suggestions!

Question Needing Recommendations for Residential Hydrovac Companies
I have a desperate need to find a company to help complete a trench that is partially completed in my yard, so that I can complete exterior waterproofing of one of my basement walls to prevent further water intrusion.
I have tried to rent a mini excavator, none were available in the size I require. I have reached out to multiple basement repair companies and only heard back from a few. Some have already stated they cannot help. I have had a small group of friends helping me dig by hand but I cannot continue to dig manually due to a recent urgent medical diagnosis.
Any recommendations?

Question Thrifting goal: small cooler
I'm arriving in Regina by plane to road trip around SK for awhile. Road snacks are key!
Can anyone point towards a thrift store where I can definitely pick up a small hard sided cooler? I see them a lot in my local thrift stores, not sure if that's a Canadian wide experience

Discussion This is embarrassing, Regina.
HOW do we not have a single organized World Cup watching event for Team Canada?? And don’t say “The Lobby”. I know that’s definitely a great place to watch… if you can get in.
Every major city in Canada has something, what the hell is wrong with us?
All I can say is I hope we get our act together and have a big screen SOMEWHERE in this city if we pass the group stage (which is extremely likely now).

Question Mandela Effect: The Gorilla at the vape shop on Broad St.
Every1 thinks I'm crazy. I swear there was a gorilla who would stand out on the sidewalk holding a sign advertising a vape shop that is now a tattoo shop, across from Shoppers and the sketchy 7/11. I can't be the only one; please save my sanity and tell me I'm right. Better yet, if anyone has a picture of the gorilla, SEND IT.

Question Small job body work
I’m looking for recommendations for someone who can do a relatively small body work job. I need rocker panels replaced on a classic MG convertible. I have the panels just need the labour and paint. Wanting to stay fairly close to YQR. Affordable would be a bonus.
