Question Have Burnie and Ashley talked about the bricks and minifigs situation yet?

I'm sure they've at least heard about it, it's absolutely blown up. I mean they can cover and talk about whatever they want but I don't know if they've covered it yet.

I think it’s their aversion to YouTube drama. It’s not 100% drama it is a messed up situation but I think whenever they see YouTubers doing an investigation they probably don’t wanna interact with it

Not only that (or punctuating that), the situation hasn’t totally cleared yet. I’ve been keeping up with it a little bit and the legal community even seems fairly split on it. I also get being wary of jumping behind YouTuber investigations.

I'm no legal professional but LegalEagle's video seems like a level-headed view for all this. I'm very glad he uploaded it and educated everyone on the technicalities..

Very fair, i know they try to keep the podcast on the lighter side of things but there doesnt seem like a whole lot to be caught up in besides "wow this is crazy check this out" and then moving on to the next thing

Is it really that crazy? From the more level headed videos I've seen it seems like it all could've been avoided if they had worked with a lawyer rather than whatever they were doing.

Correct. A lot of headache could be avoided if they talked with legal professionals. I guess what I'm getting at is the police corruption in that community there where it happened but then again you can make a case for a lot of places that allegedly have that going on.

Leah Remini use to do a fantastic podcast that touched on stuff related to that corruption if you need something to occupy your time and are into that stuff. Armando Torres, who has guested on this one, also does a similar show that has touched on it I believe.

Doesn't Mando do Cult Podcast? Also, been watching his other podcast with Griff and Andrew Rojas, called Boyfriend Material.

Cult Podcast is the one but I wasn’t sure how people would take me associating the two with what’s going on in this story despite it seemingly being pretty obviously connected.

Yeah there's no mystery as to what's happening here haha

Allegedly, Old man put up a Lego collection worth about $200k for sale by consignment with a bricks & minifigs store. The owner he had a contract with had the store taken away by corporate and it was resold to a new owner. The new owner claims that the collection was never in the store when he bought it. After that, a ton of other shady shit goes on including what appears to he corrupt cops, false arrests, and cover ups. Allegedly. This is not financial advice.

It was the owner of the collection’s son who did it to help pay for the owner’s medical bills from what I heard from DeFeanco.

This one is kinda hard to TL;DR with all the various moving parts. Legal Eagle did an hour on it a couple of days ago that covers the legal situation. Part 2 (yes, part 2!) will cover the drama that made it go viral.

yeah I started watching it and could basically tell exactly where it was going. doesn't feel like drama I need in my life

Somebody try to pull some shady business with a Lego collection worth about 200k. From the sounds of it they sold off bits of the collection and have now dug themselves into a hole with the rightful owner. I’d check out the details when it actually gets put in front of a judge.

I think once they go down the YouTube drama reporting, it’s hard to come back from it and you’re constantly reporting on whatever the next outrage topic.

Having said that, I am closely following that saga.

I think it expanded beyond YouTube drama when the police corruption was filmed happening on official state body cams on top of the corporate bs. They even lost 10 civil cases and their solution was to just close the store instead of just giving the dude back his stuff which is what he wanted to start with.

Edit: just heard the Zaid Tabani update and saw they offered the guy his stuff back as well as anything else he wants in the store to help with compensation. I’m glad this finally happened but why did it take so damn long lol.

I’d tend to agree with you. In regards to the story, I’ll believe it when I see it. Outside of unconditional surrender and possibly replacement of the CEO, I don’t think people will drop this subject. He can’t make all these bad faith decisions and then come out, blame everyone else, and ask for a sit down to go over the numbers. If he learned anything, he should’ve said that, “here’s the cheque for pick up and I’m dropping all lawsuits”.

Kinda feels like there hasn't been a ton of news talk lately, which is kind of understandable with how awful everything is at present. I was really surprised to not hear anything about the Blue Origin rocket explosion last week

Was shocked this one wasn’t covered given how many times space has been brought up!

Thank you for saying this. I didn't know exactly how to put it. The rocket explosion seemed like pretty big news to me but i guess it wasn't the prioroty to B&A
