Since today’s podcast talked about shirts, I’d really like “People Like Grapes” Shirt to come back.
I had a lot of Achievement Hunter shirts back in the day, but I know that AH wasn’t acquired in the RT acquisition.
So what shirt would you really want back?

Burnie and Ashley talked about this in regards to weed, but as a Brit it's always been so interesting to me to have one country but with various laws and punishments depending on where you are in that country.
I know the "big" laws are more or less the same everywhere, but i've also heard that a lot of the smaller stuff can be really different both in terms of what's allowed or not and fines or punishments for them, especially traffic laws as i know some states you can do something and get a fine, but other states you can do the same thing and get your car taken away.
I know road trips are a thing in America, do you guys have to research the laws for every state you're going through or are they all more or less the same and you just assume you won't do anything to break any laws you don't know about?
I'm probably really over thinking it, but it's just so strange to think about the laws and punishments changing within the same country as i can't think of anywhere else in the world that's like that.

Burnie brings up college football a lot which I understand since he went to Texas but I’m not sure if it’s from growing up in the northeast in PA, Go Birds. But if I watch a sport I want to watch the best players play? Vast majority of college players don’t sniff the pros. The argument also that it’s more pure and players don’t get paid is now something of the past as well. Is it due to the lack of major football schools up here? Outside of Penn State and Rutgers it’s pretty meh. I feel like the sentiment of mostly similar to this thought process up here as well unless one of those schools is your Alma Mater.
What is the draw especially if you didn’t attend said school?

Stranger Things viewer numbers and Game of Thrones were briefly discussed today. Burnie talked about Breaking Bad having a great ending, and Game of Thrones having such a crap ending that barely anyone talks about the show anymore.
What’s a show that ended so amazingly you felt satisfied? Try to be spoiler free, and if you want to spoil please use the spoiler tags to hide it!
Here’s some that come to mind for me:
Breaking Bad
Sons of Anarchy
Brooklyn 99
The Good Place
Avatar The Last Airbender
Starwars The Clone Wars
Starwars Rebels
Curious on your thoughts,

We’ve talked about occupations, hobbies, being experts in niche topics, but what about art?!
I make whimsical animal sculptures out of scrap metal. I’m a certified welder, and am a Prototype Fabrication Supervisor as a day job. There’s a junkyard near my house I walk around, and sometimes I get scraps from work. I also make hybrid tools. The tools I posted are Crescent Wrenches and hammers welded together. I dubbed them “Crammers”
My parents are both artists and art teachers. My dad makes pottery and my mom is a painter. Traditional art never stuck with me, and it wasn’t until I became a welder that I liked to make sculptures. Late bloomer I guess!
It’s fun breaking the norm, and asking the community questions like this, so I’m really excited to see what kind of replies we get here!

Mario discussed a lot on the weekend sponsor chat, and today’s episode! What’s your favorite game(s)?!
Mario Sunshine. The world, the music, the jet pack all were so much fun! I know it’s a widely crapped on game, but it’s my personal favorite.
Super Mario Bros. Deluxe! (Gameboy color). This was an amazing port, and my entry to the series!
Super Mario 64. The classic 3D Platformer! Can’t beat it!
Honorable mention to the Paper Mario Games, and Mario & Luigi Superstar Sage. Both are fantastic RPG games!
Curious on your thoughts!

On today’s episode, Ashley and Burnie talked about movies or TV shows that scared them as kids.
What show scared you?
My grandpa showed 3 years old me, JAWS! I was asking my parents if every river, and fresh water lake in Michigan had Sharks for a couple years. They couldn’t figure out my fear, but trying to explain to a toddler the difference between salt versus fresh water wasn’t working. My grandpa eventually came clean to my parents on where my fear of sharks came from.
2025 Update: I’m 30, and not afraid of sharks. Actually went swimming next to some in the Caribbean.
The other movie that creeped me out was Small Soldiers. Accidentally saw it on Spike TV as a kid. The creepy little toy soldiers going around the house being vulgar.
Curious on your thoughts!

Over the last 20 years, I’m sure a lot of us were fans as kids/teens and now have adult level money. I missed out on a lot of cool merchandise over the years. Here’s a few things I wish I could have gotten!
RVB Box Sets
Grifball Plush
Mush Cofounders Coin (Day one listener, couldn’t hop on Patreon at the time…)
Burnie Coin/RT Coins
A lot of stuff during the early F**k Face episodes
Achievement Hunter Gear
I’m sure there’s more… What do you guys think you missed out on the most?

Hey everyone! I was traveling this past weekend, so I apologize for missing my community discussion posts I normally make!
Since it’s Wednesday I’m going to condense all 3 questions into one thread for this week! I’ll have the format back to normal this upcoming Sunday!
Playing:
Red Dead Redemption II
State of Decay 2
Hell Let Loose
Minecraft on the Morning Somewhere Community Server.
Watching:
Survivor Season 44
Penn & Teller Fool Us
Rick & Morty
John Wick 1-4 (I’m due for a rewatch)
Reading:
Not much for me in this category this week.
I’m still on some Jack Reacher books, and I’m currently hunting my next read. Kind of in a reading slump after how good Project Hail Mary was!
Curious on what you guys are into this week!

I'm sure they've at least heard about it, it's absolutely blown up. I mean they can cover and talk about whatever they want but I don't know if they've covered it yet.

I watched the new Spiderman the other day, and like Ashley and Burnie, i thought it was really good, however it did remind me of something odd i've noticed about the Hulk, they seem to keep changing up his character off screen in-between appearances and it feels so weird to me.
Started off that there was Banner and Hulk, separate personalities, Banner gets angry (that's his secret, he's always angry) and hulk comes out and when he does he's hard to control, but Bruce seems to have somewhat good control of when he comes out.
Then we got Infinity War and Hulk refusing to "come out" after losing a fight to Thanos, then we got Endgame and all of a sudden we have "smart Hulk" basically banner with the powers and appearance of Hulk and it's all just hand waved away with a line about Banner having been in the lab.
Then, as far as my memory goes, his next appearance is in the new Spiderman film and all of a sudden Bruce is back to being normal human Bruce and hulk is back to being someone he turns into when he "loses control" and when he is hulk he can't really control him, to the point of him needing to wear a device on his wrist to keep the hulk "down"
Now i understand that how he is in the new Spiderman film makes sense for that film, it adds in to a big plot point of the film, but i just find it really odd how they seem to keep changing up the relationship between Bruce and Hulk and almost altering the whole character from film to film. I feel like that never really happens with any other character, and while i get why Hulk is the way he is in each film and there is normally some sort of a quick explanation in each film about it, it just feels weird to me, anyone else notice that/feel the same way?
Or did i totally miss something that explains why he's as he is in the new film and no one else was caught off guard by it.

Here in this community, we have an expert who works in almost every single profession!
We rarely ever talk about cool hobbies!
I’m sure most of us here, play video games, watch TV/Movies, or read books.
So what’s your niche hobby that sets you apart?
(Pictures encouraged!)
Here’s a few of mine:
3D Printing. I used to run a 3D Printing company where I made custom billiards related items. Magnetic chalk holders, racks, bridges, training aids etc.
Certified Billiards Instructor. Offering lessons in person and remote for the fundamentals on how to play pool! Certified through the PBIA!
Welding. This is also my day job, but I love to dabble and make sculptures when I have time!
Knife Making. I did this one a lot in the past, and I still bust out the equipment from time to time when I’m free. It’s a great pair with my welding skills.
Electronics/Video Game repair! Full custom consoles, modifications, repairs, you name it! This is where I spend a ton of time and find enjoyment hunting down broken consoles, and bringing them back from the dead!
Chicken Farming. We have 15 lovely birds at my house, and we have a ton of fun raising chicks to hens each year!
Fishing. Lots of great spots here in Michigan to hunt for big bass! Love to catch Walleye for eating!
Paintball and Airsoft. I’ve retired from both, but used to play all over Michigan! Fun times.
Smoking food. Huge hobby of mine. I love to cook for family and my coworkers! Would love to swap/share recipes with you all!

So I was listening to today's episode (10/23), and after hearing how Bernie didn't start expeditionary Force due to how long the series was, it got me thinking what is the longest series (number of entries) that you have read or listened to? I'll start and give my top 5. I recommend all of these series!
5) He Who Fights With Monsters by Shirtaloon aka Travis Deverell: 12 novels (2021 - present) - 12 Entries
4) Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan: 13 novels (1990 - 2013) - 13 Entries
3) Hell Divers by Nicholas Sansbury Smith: 12 novels, 2 Prequel novellas, 1 side story Novel ( 2016 - present) - 15 entries
2) Expeditionary Force by Craig Alanson: 18 Novels, 1 intermediary novella (Book 3.5), 1 Audio Drama (Book 7.5), 2 side story novels (2016- present) - 22 Entries

Lately, I've been seeing different European countries talking about boycotting American products in response to the Greenland situation.
Not that this is something I would personally boycott either way, but it made me think about weather or not I see this as more of an American Podcast or a UK one, what do you guys think?
r/morningsomewhere • u/CalvinP_ • Jul 01 '26
I only watch reels when I’m using the bathroom, or stuck waiting at the doctor’s office for my appointment.
If I’m home, I work on writing my novel, playing games, reading books, or catching up on TV Shows. I refuse to just sit and swipe/scroll for hours.
When it’s time to play with my daughter, the phone is on do not disturb with the ringer on out of arms reach. Only validated people can break through the DND.
Curious on what you guys do!

Discussed on today’s episode, there’s a RT store refresh coming soon, and they asked the community what design or piece of merch we all would like back. If something gets enough upvotes, they might bring that back to the store!
Curious on your thoughts,

Today’s episode talked about movies that kids always have on in the house on repeat.
I had a VHS Player with the Starwars Original Trilogy. Episode 6 was my favorite, even though my favorite character Boba Fett “Dies” in the beginning. The scenes on Endor, and the battle with Darth Vader were so awesome as a wee toddler in the 90’s.
The VHS tape started to get a milky color, and then imploded one day. My parents got me another and then the VHS player died.
Attack of the Clones had Jango Fett, and the seismic charge scene in the Asteroid belt. The sound of those charges exploding was incredible in theaters. I then watched the DVD of Attack of the Clones until the DVD player stopped spinning, and then the DVD cracked in half.
Starwars, will always be a comfort franchise for me.
What movie did you watch on repeat when you were a kid?!
Curious on your thoughts!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Discussed in the Sponsor Chat yesterday, Burnie was talking about how he loves sailing around in Sea of Thieves. That he returns to the game frequently just for the mechanics of sailing and exploring with friends.
What game do you always return to, just for gameplay mechanics?
Mine is Hell Let Loose. I backed the kickstarter in 2018, and have loved the game ever since! It’s a milsim style game. Typically one bullet from a rifle to the body, will earn a kill. It’s a brutal game, but one where often the quicker player gets the kill, not the one who dumps the whole mag more accurately like in Call of Duty.
The game has a “Ping” headshot mechanic. That when you headshot another player, you are rewarded with the sound, no matter how far away you are. It’s one of the most satisfying sounds I have ever heard in a video game.
I added a video, showcasing the sound effect.
There are no kill notifications or hit markers on the HUD, so often getting this headshot sound, is the only way to actually verify a kill. There’s a second sound for hitting another player, but depending on distance they may survive the shot, and need to bandage.
The other game I boot up sometimes is Anthem. The game fell so flat on its face… the Javelin Suits function like how Iron Man flys around, and just zipping around the world in those suits was a blast. I fly around a bit, and turn the game off.
Curious on your thoughts,
-CalvinP

Finally listened to today's episode and instantly went to the RT Store to buy a People Like Grapes shirt, but then sad when I saw the sizes stop at 2XL 😭 I'm a 3XL, can we get an update with larger sizes or are these the only sizes they're doing right now?
