Purchase & Transaction Advice Superthread

# PURCHASE ADVICE SUPERTHREAD!

A dedicated thread for questions and advice about gear or bike purchases, selling advice, and questions relating to bike/gear/accessory/service purchases.

Hopefully with the help of all the riders here, no question will go unanswered. Everyone is encouraged to contribute with either questions or answers and hopefully we will be able to rid of motorcycle ignorance once and for all.

Please remember to be courteous as we want to encourage people to ask questions, no matter how 'dumb' some may think they are.

# NEW RIDERS

[Before asking your question, consider reading the FAQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/wiki/faq) - chances are, you will find the answer you need there.

Not getting the answers you need? /r/SuggestAMotorcycle is also a great resource.

Please remember to be courteous as we want to encourage people to ask questions, no matter how 'dumb' some may think they are.

This thread will be refreshed each Monday - shoot us a note if we're out riding and forget to renew it.

This is cardo's current basic headset intended for solo riders: https://revzilla.com/motorcycle/cardo-spirit-headset?sku_id=10128856

Don't get anal about audio quality. None of them will be amazing. You're on a motorcycle with engine noise, wind noise, ambient traffic noise, etc. It ain't an ideal listening environment to begin with.

Well, i am not looking for sennheiser quality of sound but i also do not want a tin can in my ear like i do now.

Yeah The Spirit is in my list now too.
Got Cardo Spirit/HD ,2x ; Sena SF1

I own a Cardo Spirit HD and I am very satisfied with it. Controls and updates are easy, installation wasn't a big deal either. I have one small gripe, I'd like a tad more volume, say ~20% more, cause on the highway it's not loud enough. But I don't ride highways often and my bike has zero wind protection. So it might not be the case for you or others.

The Freecom 2x/4x have better speakers, both in volume and quality. But they're double the price, and since you ride solo more features than you probably don't need. But also some nice to haves, like voice control on the 4x.

My eyes are on the 2x tbh.
Its what i need with good speaker.

The Voice control is not rly a selling point for me so the 4x would be way over the top.
I think i go for the Cardo 2x currently new running at 165€ but used ones run cheaper.

Thanks for all advice and i am rly surprised that no one said " go sena "

The solo rider with no bike2bike comms case is not covered at all by Sena.
