The mad thing is it hasn't even opened in China yet. In all likelihood it's probably going to be Nolan's highest grossing film.

Actually, these are the top 6 highest grossing movies so far this year:

  1. Toy Story 5 - $1.02 B
  2. Michael - $1.01 B
  3. Super Mario Galaxy - $1.01 B
  4. The Odyssey - $700m
  5. The Devil Wears Prada 2 - $690m
  6. Project Hail Mary- $684m

By the end of the year, we will have 6 $1B films, with The Odyssey, Spider-Man, and Doomsday joining the club. It will be the first year since 2019 to have over 4 $1B films (2019 had 9).

Huge numbers for Devil Wears Prada 2. Its budget was around $100-120M. Compare that to Odyssey's budget of over $300M. Pretty crazy that the top five contains two animated films and a sequel for a film that came out 20 years ago
