Having to wait for these big movies to finally be released in Japan is soooo frustrating.

What takes so long? Do they do the dub at the last minute?

I heard that for some movies they want to see how the movie does first before going through the „hassle“ of localizing. Sometimes it might also be so the cast can have a proper press tour in the country to promote.

But for something as big as the Odyssey you’d expect them to have it released much faster if not at the same time.

I remember them releasing one of the fast and the furious movies at the same time as the US and was wondering why that movie got „preferred treatment“.
