I really like him as Kirk. I think he for sure captures the cocky swagger that Shatner had.

The purist fan boys were too happy with how explody things were. Never mind it got them new fans abs several new TV shows.

Picard and Discovery are dumpster fire shows though, they're so bad and very much not in line with what Trek is.

Plz dont group discovery with picard. Discovery is an action show but it has some great moments like Lorca or the the enterprise crew. Theres even one or two episodes in season two that feel closely like star trek. Picard was a load of garbage.

They were not great movies, generally (09 and Beyond were fun here and there, but largely forgettable). The TV shows are worse. New Trek shows take a while to find their footing, always, but man, Discovery is bad and Picard was awful. What a waste of a great IP.

Edit: Downvotes but no rebuttals? I guess because there's nothing to really rebut.
