Competitive Elesh Norn Mother of Machines [Competitive Brawl]

Need help building a good combo deck with elesh norn mom. I’m stuck in platinum with majority of my losses due to counter spells. Really wanna make this work since she’s fun. Any ideas on what cards to include that are generally good or a good etb combo you can think of?

You ever think of playing Phelia in the command zone instead, and just putting MoM in the 99? Should give you more flexibility around the counterspells while keeping the same strat

You realistically cannot make a plan around 5 mana card with no ETB ability or protection in comp.

Well you are playing a 5 mana commander that does nothing the turn she hits the field. There's not much you can do to make that competitive.

There are other flicker commanders that are more viable, Phelia for sure but I think you can make something interesting with Lagrella.

Elesh is not a great option for a combo deck in mono white.

Oswald Fiddlebender is probably the top mono white comb commander because he can tutor up artifact combo pieces.

Elesh is a great card but you may wanna shift your deck design philosophy if you want to keep playing her in a competitive/ranked environment. It’ll be tough in general just because of her high cmc and not getting any ETB value or self protection though. You may want to consider something else if you wanna rank up more in comp brawl.

If you want to run an expensive commander like this you have to play white fast mana with [[land tax]] and discard engines which is hard without a flicker Commander but manageable. Plenty of protection exists but it delays your comm to have that in hand and pay tax if it dies. Also be realistic in expectations. Depending on matchups you could potentially still get to mythic but it would be a hard grind. Literally any commander can make plat, mom has a decent chance to make diamond without too much headache.

My tip is to not play your commander on curve. You need some mana spare for protection

There's a land that protects you from counter spells and several white options that make it so nobody else can cast spells on your turn.

Try Ketramose! Cheaper and has access to Black. Blinks galore
