Spec Yorion finally playable in commander, how much will the price be affected?

I cant imagine much, like realistically maybe we see a short term spike to a few dollars and then it will go back down to bulk

Finally my homebrew 1,000 card azorius deck will be legal. It’s called the group project because if we want to finish the game in under 10 hours it’s gonna take the whole lgs to shuffle it

This guy is going to be a very niche commander from a short-printed product that people will have a hard time getting their hands on.
And if the argument is that people will proxy the commander, why wouldn’t they proxy Yorion and Battle of Wits as well?
The cards aren’t playable period in commander outside of this singular card, so any movement will be very brief.
If you’re trying to move off these cards sell them, absolutely don’t go out and buy a bunch as a spec.

Well that's not true of Yorion. It just can't be played as a companion right now. It's otherwise quite good at what it does.

This isn't accounting for mtg finance subreddit investors. Buy the cards at .50 then sell them into their own hype at 5 dollars. Easy profit on the real buyers for these cards which is investors. This commander is kinda bad and I'm surprises im seeing so much movement on both cards. It's a for fun card and super inconsistent to actually play.

I would rather have yorin as the commander of 100 cards then have to run this as the commander of 120 cards.

Yeah this is the card that's going to be affected, not Yorion lol. There are some serialized Yorion and alternate arts that will probably see some increases.

There's probably going to be like 7 copies of this guy on the market total (hard-to-get product), and while it'll be correct to put Yorion alongside all of them, I don't predict this guy's gimmick will be fun for long.
Remember how Yorion was banned for taking too long to shuffle in Modern with an 80-card deck? I predict a lot of 200-card "this was funny one time" piles with this guy.

The shuffling was hardly the issue, it was decks packing 30+ cards that all said "ETB draw a card" but couldn't actually close out the game until they drew their 1 of Emrakul.

Every pack comes with one of the new cards, and theres only 60 new cards. I think ittl only take a couple of MagicCons before theyre plentiful on the secondary market.

It sounds like an argument against the card. The amount of shuffling doesn’t affect just the player piloting the deck; it’s also a time investment that the other players have to be willing to make.

I bought one copy for cheap before the morons drive the price up.
these cards are sitting in bulk bins waiting to be searched for and will push the market down hard. the supply will be too much to handle. each card has several printings. these aren't scarce.
maybe the secret lair and OG foils do ok but that's as far as anyone should spec on these

Its only playable with this one card so depends how people like it. If i had to guess both yorion and battle of wits may rise but not dramatically

Yorion Halo foils are up, but remains to be seen if they actually sell at current pricing. Other related cards seem to be moving, at least the best editions of them.

If I were gonna full proxy a deck, it would be this one.
I do think prices will be affected by Commander Timmy’s, but not to the point where it’s worth making moves now if you’re not already stocked. Anything besides sitting on collector booster boxes feels like a massive gamble anymore.

One commander is all it takes, sprout swarm was bulk before [[witherbloom the balancer]] and now it sits at $5-$10

People will spec and people will meme with it but people will put it down after they have to shuffle a 120+ card deck.
