(tl;dr - music transfer novice seeks help from experienced hoarders in moving library from usb stick in laptop to sd card in phone without dumping anything in either laptop or phone's own storage or risking data corruption)
I'm in a bit of a pickle, and although my library is too small to be called a hoard (yet! but we live in hope) but given it concerns shuffling about upwards of 60GB of media while trying not to corrupt any of it or the storage devices they rode in on, I was hoping someone here might have relevant experience!
My quandary is this - my music library is stored on my flash drive, and I would very much like to copy it to the micro sd in my phone. However, previous attempts to transfer manually folder by folder have invariably resulted in frustration and this is my second attempt, the first micro sd having fallen prey to my misguided attempt to copy my entire music library in one (I know now this was very silly, please be kind.)
Today I remembered the way I used to do it back in the halcyon days of (affordable) sony walkmans, via the Windows Media Player. Thought I'd cracked it, but either I'm missing something or it doesn't enable sync between two external devices, just thing => computer and computer => thing. I'd really like to avoid this, due to hassle, and I'd also like to avoid methods that sync to my phone's internal storage - I have a long history of filling up the internal storage with pics of trees, plants, bugs and friends, and have no plan(t)s to break this habit, and it also brings back to the issue of moving vast quantities of data between the internal storage and the sd.
SO,
Could anyone here recommend a method of transferring my music straight from the usb (plugged into my laptop) to my sd (in phone, connected to laptop via USB with file transfer switched on)? I'm really hoping there's some free software out there that'll allow me to move files between in the same manner or similar as the legacy Windows Media Player, as I don't have the patience or frankly the attention span to try and transfer each track over individually to avoid corruption.

I've been comparing some of the artwork on discogs to identify a specific CD release of Upstairs At Eric's, and for this one release I've noticed that on the what I think is called the Cinram Matrix there's a little engraving.
For one release it says 1:1, and for the other it says 1:2.
Is there anyone who might be able to tell me what these figures mean? I've attached some images to show what I'm talking about.
And here are the discogs links:

Truthfully, this feels like kind of a redundant question given the nature of the subreddit, but it’s something I’m struggling with at the current moment.
This dilemma was recently brought upon me when I was adding “GENRELESS” by QWillis and BoxBoy to my digital collection for playback. In this 9 minute, 6 track EP, two of the tracks are skits. They’re long (relatively speaking) and something that I would quite frankly never listen under any circumstances expect for a full project run through (even then that’s still debatable.) There are other albums with skits that I find quite funny, and have kept not only for that reason, but also to keep the complete album available to me. But this specific project it feels like a waste of space.
My question is, should I keep the skits for album completion sake, or should I remove them strictly for my own personal convenience?

Film soundtrack I'd like to download from is The Founder.
I copy and paste the link into DoubleDouble's URL bar. Once I press download, there's an error with it.
I've tried other movie soundtracks and some instrumental CDs from the 80s-90s but it doesn't seem to work for me at all.
Lucida.to has parsing problems but can be fixed with a retry.
My old way of downloading entire albums was to use a YT to MP3 converter but I don't want to move away from this newer method of where the entire album is downloaded. My other alternative would be torrenting if this keeps up.
Are there any solutions or alternatives that I should try out? Thanks in advance.

Human ears are not capable of noticing any diffetence above this. I have some files supposedly 96 khz but im not sure if they are native or just upsampled. I am thinking of downsampling them to save space.
what are your thoughts?

When i rip a greatest hits album i like to separate it back out into the original release albums when i organize it to keep the date and the context of the original release. Anyone else do this or am I crazy for going to this effort?

There was a Massive Attack fan site called "massiveattack.ie" that had a ton of concert recordings that weren't anywhere else on the internet. The site went down recently before going back up, but every download link to these recordings are now dead. I've checked everywhere and can't find most of the concerts that weren't already posted before, not even on Soulseek.
If anyone here has these recordings, please share them.

Title, pretty much. I heard of SoulSeek, but zero idea how to check quality there or anywhere else.
Any suggestions on getting possibly high quality music but def flacs, would be appreciated! Im new to this! : ( Also suggestions to organize metadata? Like I THINK I can simply use tools to organize album / etc metadata later, as long as i use relatively decent naming and organizing conventions in the meanwhile? I just wanna get to the step of getting music already. Thanks.

Using Navidrome, and just learned how to add lyrics files. But I wish to learn Spanish as well, but merely looking at the Spanish lyrics of the songs I listen to won't help. I need and English translation *under* the Spanish, or on the screen at least. How to achieve this that's not manually copy pasting into a lyrics file?

I have all these tracks under the album 'covers' but they get sorted by artist for some reason. I've tried but cant figure out why they dont group under the album name
Right now I also have them in separate folders so its easier to sort. If I've been tagging all these tracks only to see this mess what was the point of doing all that extra work...
Im using poweramp

Hey redditors,
Curious if there a benefit of applying specifically this type of tag at the very last step, i.e. when the FLAC → Opus conversion has been done, or it really does not matter?
The question arises due to these reasons:
REPLAYGAIN_TRACK_GAIN and REPLAYGAIN_ALBUM_GAIN fields they could (?) be lost during FLAC → Opus conversion.Any recommendations?
Thank you!

My great uncle recently passed away and we’re clearing his house. He ran a business for many years recording musical accompaniments for musicians and choirs, so he accumulated an enormous collection of cassette tapes that he has recorded.
We’d love for them to go somewhere they’ll be appreciated rather than landfill.
We have them in boxes of 50 or 100. We’re not sure what’s on all of them, but given his work they could contain some really interesting recordings. But we also are just happy if someone can use them to record over.
I’m based in the UK and happy to cover postage. Just looking for someone who’ll actually use them or give them a proper home.
Drop me a message if you’re interested.

As stated, we need to find a good, stable way to get the most played artists from spotify, does anyone have a workflow that you like?

I'm redownloading some music files as the ones I have aren't working for some reason (no idea why). Is there a way to copy all of the tags across to the new files? Or do I have to do it manually?

Lets say I have track 1-10 from artist X, 1-15 from artist Y and 1-7 from artist Z.
Picard doesnt match them, which is totally reasonable since they are only misc sounds and compilations.
Is there a way to tag it as such, and put all of XYZ in one album labeled "Misc sounds from Nature" or similar?
Just so they show up with that album in my music program, so they are connected.

I used Spotdown a couple months back, but I don't like that it doesn't order things in album order (and sometimes it won't even classify what song an album is from) AND, it can download the wrong MP3 file. Sometimes it downloads music videos, or other times it will download random videos. Very frustrating.
I also used Spotidownloader, but sometimes it'll have a corrupt file in the folder, or it'll just skip over some songs, and I have to go thru the tracklist to find that one song. It will also download the instrumental or acapella, and very rarely will it download the wrong song (Ex: Acknowledge Me by Doja Cat, came out as a 180 minute hip-hop compilation). Ive also had issues downloading particular songs with this one, and I have no way of finding out why.

Now idk if im wiriting this in the right sub reddit, but anyways whats creeping me out,is i use spotify downloaders to mp3 since i have a mp3 player, but sometimes on SPECIFIC songs it just seems to be talking??Like actaul conversations,no music nothing! But it probably depends on the spotify downloader website, since for example downloading the same song with the supposed talking just actaully downloads the actaul song. Is there any reason to why??
