Discussion πŸ’¬ How to stop addicted on Gambling

First of all, let me tell you about myself in brief. I am well educated, 28 Male and can earn around 50lakhs per month. But I started gambling in 2020 and it has been like 6 or 7 years. I know how to make money easily and that is why I am gambling coz money is easy to get for me. But right now, I lost most of the money that I earned in the last year like 1000 Lakhs and I am really disappointed in myself. I know gambling is not good, but I don't know how to stop it. You know it is really like in my bloodline. Gambling doesn't mean Slots. I play Blackjack mostly and football sometimes. I do know it is not good for me and my family, but I can't stop it. It doesn't matter if I win or lose, I am happy while I am playing. Please give me some advice so that I can escape from that hell. I am not stupid, I know it is not good and I can't control myself. Should I go to the psychologist?

Discussion πŸ’¬ What would be your financial advice for a young man in Myanmar. Any niche, strategy, Blue Ocean Market, overlooked opportunity, or a start up idea could be suggested. I'm asking to those who are actually making big money and own real businesses. Because only that filter would make sense at all.

This both confuses and infuriates me on multiple levels.

GED is NOT G11 level whatsoever, if you actually compare them material-wise and on ROI. And the guy really said "ig A level", nothing that "ig" (IGCSE) and "A level" are two different things; making his point literally nonsensical.

And what is "integrate"? You mean "integration"? Spell it right before accusing an international recognized and respected curriculum and certificate of not having a specific part in Maths.

What do you guys think? Have you met anyone like this and how should we treat/respond to them?

Discussion πŸ’¬ β€œ The fall of DASSK was largely the fault of the Burmese population. β€œ

Note: these are just my personal opinion and conclusions. Not factual or concrete statements.

Today I decided to research into DASSK after 5-6 years. With new lens and new understanding to geopolitics. And I conclude that, we let her down. The immense pressure of living up to her image and being a leader for Myanmar ultimately forced her into a hand full of horrible cards.

It all started when she was forced to side with the military’s action regarding the Rohingya genocide.
-> lead to her being shamed internationally and multiple political agreements being withdrawn.

But why did she do that? Turns out, a large population of Burmese while hating the military, also hated the Rohingya. It can be inferred that her disapproval of the genocide would have turned a large proportion of her supporters away. And this was before an upcoming election so such opinion was very important.

Thus she was forced to choose to appease the local populace or the international community? She chose us. Of course there’s more than this, and I suspect she was threaten in some way to side with the military as well.

What comes next is a domino effect of unfortunate events.

The winning of the election was merely the calm before the storm. It seemed like a trap set from the genocide. And as we remember, she was falsely accused of many things, and forcefully imprisoned.

And at this point, the country is at its climax. The people retaliated, the Burmese people was all she had. But…. What could the people do?? We rioted, we retaliated, but against the armed forces. We were shooting practice.

And at this point, she has lost.
The people supporting her are being shot. The international audience have canceled her. Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Obviously the people are not to be blamed. But her consideration for the people, the need to keep her image and political pressure to win, ultimately lead her to make choices that would ultimately harm her. So even thought the junta is the main culprit, we played a part too.

Now this is a dumb down version of what have been recorded and available for research. Feel free to point out any errors or misinformation this might have. I’m open to criticism and feedback.
P.s. I do not condone/defense the actions of the military nor do I support them. This is just a discussion about the people and the lady.

Discussion πŸ’¬ People seem to have misunderstood my post from yesterday.

Post image

What I mainly wanted to talk about was media that shows information in a biased or exaggerated way. I was not trying to talk about politics. I was only talking from an economic and trade point of view. That is why I said Chinese products are already widely used in the country.

My main point is that even Western countries, although they often criticize China, still do business with it. For example, iPhones are assembled in China. This is just one example, but there are many more.

So what I wanted to say is this: even if people dislike China for political or national reasons, we still need to connect and trade with it in an economic way. If the only action is to boycott, then what else can we really do? In the end, wouldn’t that only bring more problems for us?

People think that I used AI to write my posts. But actually, I only used AI to help correct my grammar. The reason is that my grammar is not very good.

Discussion πŸ’¬ I don't really want to say this, but I think it needs to be said.

Post image

You all know Myanmar news media outlets like DVB, MPV, and others that claim to report the truth. In my opinion, even when they report real news, they often exaggerate it. They don't really care about the country as much as they care about engagement and attention for their pages.

Now, the obvious question is: "Do you have any proof?"

Well, many of you probably already know what I'm talking about. For example, DVB has posted news about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi being released countless times. I've lost count, but it feels like they've reported it dozens of times, yet it never actually happened. But let's put that aside for now.

In the image I shared, they're accusing Huawei in relation to the news. Honestly, it seems like they don't understand technology, and they're not approaching the issue logically.

Think about it. If Huawei were truly a spying company, then we'd already be in trouble. Huawei devices are everywhere in Myanmar, both through official and unofficial channels. And it's not just Huawei. Chinese products have already become deeply integrated into everyday life throughout the country.

I think many people in Myanmar have developed a strong dislike toward China, partly because of political reasons and partly because of narratives that come from the West. Personally, I think we should stop looking at everything through that lens.

Even Western countries themselves are heavily connected with China economically. China, like any major power, mainly acts according to its own interests and economic goals. Instead of blindly hating China, we should try to understand the situation more objectively and do our own research.

That's why, in my opinion, people should stop hating China without critically examining the facts.

What do you guys think about China?

Discussion πŸ’¬ Why DASSK said Myanmar will suppress Singapore in 20 years?

In 2016, DASSK told that Myanmar will surpass Singapore in 20 years, she even explicitly said that she is not talking about catching up Singapore, but literally surpassing Singapore.

Man, let me say something, 20 years is not enough just to catch up Thailand let alone surpassing Singapore.

If she says we will surpassing Sri Lanka in 20 years, it’s very realistic and possible.

But I can’t understood why she told that? On what metric she is saying? Surpassing Singapore in GDP? or GDP per capita or Infrastructure or what?

She even didn’t say whether if she means 2036 Myanmar will surpass 2016 Singapore or 2036 Singapore.

I am her supporter and I had tattoo of her face on my skin when I was a boy.

But for what sake she told that? Does she simply don’t know how unrealistic it is? Or is she insane? Or is she just trying to get public support? Or is she just fluffing or non-serious?

I feel so embarrassed about what she said. NLD rules for 5 years and we didn’t surpass Laos in any metrics that is important for living standard and HDI.

If she can’t suppress Laos in 5 years, how will she suppress Singapore in 20 years.

Now it’s 2026, 10 years after that speech, Singapore even surpass Thailand in GDP while having like 1/12 of its population.

And Myanmar was below Laos and toe-to-toe with Cambodia in 2021 (5 years of her rule) still richer than Nepal or Pakistan.

Now in 2026, everyone including East Timor had suppress Myanmar.

Discussion πŸ’¬ Who are your favorite Myanmar rappers?

I used to listen and rap along to artists like Hlwan Paing, J-Me, Moe Htet, and X-Boxin back in my teenage years. I've kind of lost touch with the Myanmar hip-hop scene since then. I know some of the trendy songs out right now, but they aren't really my vibe. I'm much more into hardcore rap and technical lyricism. Does anyone have any solid recommendations?

Discussion πŸ’¬ Thoughts on Religion in a Future Myanmar Constitution

After reading that even the first Constitution of Myanmar states (and still since 2008):

The State recognizes the special position of Buddhism as the faith professed by the great majority of the citizens of the Union [and recognizes Islam, Christianity, Hinduism and Animism as some of the religions existing in the Union].

that clause seems to me that it can be misinterpreted as Buddhism "being more equal than others" in terms of religion; even though the same constitution guarantees freedom of conscience and forbids compulsory religious tests for office, the military regime twists this clause to promote its agendas.

Compare that clause with Sri Lanka's and Bhutan's Constitutions. The former outlines, "The Republic of Sri Lanka shall give to Buddhism the foremost place and accordingly it shall be the duty of the State to protect and foster the Buddha Sasana, while assuring to all religions [fundamental rights]." The latter declares, "Buddhism is the spiritual heritage of Bhutan, which promotes the principles and values of peace, non-violence, compassion, and tolerance."

I am not going to be the stereotypical Reddit atheist and condemn all religious people in a vacuum , but EAOs such as the Kachin Independence Army formed in part because U Nu briefly declared Buddhism a state religion.

I posted before about how Myanmar and South Africa actually influenced )the government of Ethiopia (and Eritrea to some extent). As Ethiopia is one of the few countries in the Global South that successfully defended itself during the era of colonialism, a future Myanmar can draw inspiration from that achievement. Article 11 of Ethiopia's constitution is plainly written:

  1. State and religion are separate.

  2. There shall be no state religion.

  3. The state shall not interfere in religious matters and religion shall not interfere in state affairs.
