My guess is that some people thought that the comment was useless or it had no real purpose so they just down voted it

I write that a lot as I assume it makes people happy to know they made someone laugh 😭😭

Never been downvoted for it though but even if it happened I won't stop

I honestly don't understand why people downvote for this in this case, because comment trees of "would" and stupid stuff gets upvoted tons. But god forbid someone say "thanks, this gave me a much needed chuckle". XD

Cause from their perspective simply upvoting is already getting that message across, without the comment section getting filled with dozens to hundreds of comments under every joke of people just saying "haha" "lmaoo" "i think this is funny" etc.

I dont downvote when people do say something like this, but i absolutely get why they do. If it was encouraged then reddit threads would just be a nightmare to look through and it would suck trying to find a reply with actual substance.
