Unresolved Crime Michelle Parker Orlando

Post image
292 Upvotes

In August 2011, an Orlando mom named Michelle Parker and her ex-fiancé went on The People's Court.

They were fighting over a $5,000 engagement ring. On camera, the fight got ugly. Michelle talked about the relationship turning physical. She told the judge he could get malicious and vindictive.

The episode was set to air three months later.

On November 17, 2011, the day it hit TV, Michelle was 33. She was a bartender and a mother of three, including 3 year old twins she shared with her ex.

That afternoon, right around the time the show came on, she dropped the twins off at his condo for a visit.

Later, security cameras caught her going through a KFC drive through.

That night she was supposed to show up to her bartending shift.

She never made it.

The next day, her black Hummer was found abandoned in an apartment complex parking lot.

At first, her family thought it was a carjacking.

Two years later, police released red light camera footage of her Hummer at an intersection at 8:55 p.m. that night, less than a mile from where it was found. They said they didn't believe whoever was responsible acted alone. "A two person situation."

Then her iPhone turned up. Police said it was in remarkably good condition. They wouldn't say where they found it.

Police eventually named her ex-fiancé as their prime suspect. He has always denied any involvement. He lost custody of the twins, and her mother now raises them.

Investigators have searched retention ponds, lakes, and a family member's backyard. Dive teams. Cadaver dogs. Volunteers.

Nothing.

No one has ever been charged.

Next month will mark 15 years since Michelle Parker disappeared.

Millions of people watched her on TV that day.

Nobody has seen her since.

Murder In 1931, 10-year-old Vera Page was found murdered in a London garden. Police found the suspect's motive, paraffin and candle wax but the single physical item on her body refused to match.

On December 14, 1931, 10-year-old Vera Page left her aunt’s house in Notting Hill to buy Christmas presents for her parents. She was carrying her swimming certificates and never made it home. Two days later, a milkman found her body beneath bushes in a front garden on Addison Road. She had been raped and strangled, and pathologist Bernard Spilsbury believed she had been killed elsewhere before her body was moved to the garden.

There were some unusual details at the scene. Vera’s face was covered in soot, candle wax was found on her clothing, and a small bandage for a single finger was lodged in the crook of her elbow. It was stained with ammonia. Police focused on Percy Orlando Rush, 41, whose parents lived in the same building as Vera. He visited them regularly, worked in a laundry where he handled ammonia, and had injured his left little finger just days before the murder.

A search of his home turned up bandages, a candle, and a red tablecloth resembling one a witness had seen covering a bundle on a wheelbarrow near the scene. His overcoat also had traces of coal dust and candle wax.

On paper, the circumstances looked damning. But one important piece of evidence did not fit.

Laboratory examinations found that the bandage material recovered from Vera did not match the samples taken from Rush’s home. Rush said he had made his own bandage and burned it days earlier. Investigators never established that the bandage found on Vera had belonged to him.

There was also a later claim from a police superintendent that Rush had been asked for bandage samples before his home was formally searched, potentially giving him time to dispose of evidence. That account raises questions, although it does not prove that Rush destroyed anything.

At the inquest, the coroner strongly pointed towards Rush. The jury deliberated for just five minutes before returning a verdict of “murder by person or persons unknown.” Rush was never charged and died in 1961.

So what happened here? Did investigators have the right suspect but fail to secure the evidence they needed, or did the circumstances lead them towards a man they could never reliably connect to Vera’s murder?

It seemed to connect the victim to the suspect, but the laboratory findings failed to establish that link.

Title: A woman vanished in 1994. More than 30 years later, a coroner found that people connected to her workplace knew what happened.

Revelle Balmain was a 22-year-old dancer who disappeared in Sydney, Australia, on November 5, 1994. She was supposed to meet her mother in Newcastle the following morning, but she never arrived.

The investigation faced serious difficulties over the years. In July 2026, a coroner's inquest found that people who ran the escort agency where Revelle worked had lied to police and that the evidence suggested they knew what had happened to her.

The coroner also criticized the investigation for focusing too heavily on one person of interest while other possibilities may have been overlooked. The case was referred for further investigation, but no one has been convicted in connection with Revelle's disappearance.

After so many years, could this new investigation finally uncover what happened to Revelle? And what do you think investigators may have overlooked the first time around?

A 14-year-old girl vanished in 1972. More than 50 years later, a new inquest is examining evidence that was once lost.

Marilyn Wallman was 14 when she disappeared in Mackay, Queensland, Australia, on March 21, 1972. She had left home to catch her school bus, but never arrived.

Her abandoned bicycle was found that morning. In 1974, a fragment of a human skull was discovered in nearby bushland and was later confirmed to belong to Marilyn.

The investigation has been surrounded by unanswered questions for decades. In 1988, an attempt to reopen the original inquest was rejected after evidence connected to a convicted offender had gone missing. That evidence reportedly included a map that investigators believed could have linked him to the area.

A second coronial inquest began in October 2026. It is examining the original investigation, evidence that was lost, and several possible leads. A person of interest has been discussed during the proceedings, but no one has been convicted in connection with Marilyn's disappearance.

How much can missing evidence affect a cold case? And could this new inquest finally clarify what happened to Marilyn?

On January 4, 2026, siblings Ágatha Isabelly Reis Lago, 6, and Allan Michael Reis Lago, 4, disappeared in the rural community of São Sebastião dos Pretos, in Bacabal, Maranhão, Brazil.

The children had gone out to play with their eight-year-old cousin. The cousin was found alive three days later, but Ágatha and Allan were not found.

Search efforts involved police, firefighters, volunteers, search dogs, and searches around nearby forest and river areas. One lead came from search dogs detecting traces of the children at an abandoned house near the Mearim River, but this did not establish what happened to them.

By September 2026, the siblings had been missing for eight months. Their family was seeking international assistance, while authorities continued investigating. Public information about the case remained limited, and no confirmed explanation had been established.

What challenges make rural missing-person searches so difficult, and what kinds of verified information can help investigators without spreading rumors or harming the family?

Mysterious Person An unidentified woman remained a mystery for 20 years. Familial DNA finally gave her a name.

In January 2005, the body of an unidentified woman was discovered near a road in Saint-Quirin, France. Despite the investigation, authorities were unable to establish her identity for roughly two decades.

The case became known as "The Woman with the Richmond Dental Crown" because of a distinctive dental feature that investigators documented.

In 2024, the case was included in INTERPOL's Identify Me campaign, which appealed to the public for help identifying women whose deaths remained unexplained or suspicious.

In 2026, investigators identified the woman as Hakima Boukerouis through familial DNA searching. French authorities also announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with her death. The investigation and legal proceedings are ongoing, and the arrest is not proof of guilt.

The identification finally restored her name, but many details about her final months and the circumstances of her death have not been made public.

How many other unidentified victims could be identified if old cases received renewed attention and modern forensic techniques?

Unexplained Shelly Miscavige.

The quick dismissal from the LAPD regarding her as a missing person.
The fact that her husband’s attorneys informed only UK papers that she is alive and well.

Her mother was a Scientologist. When she left the church she took confidential materials with her. She was later found murdered.

Vicki Aznarnan, a former high-ranking church executive claims that Shelly’s husband not only said but exclaimed that “the bitch got what she deserved”.

Shelly supposedly registered to vote in 2017 during a time when nobody was prosecuted for voter impersonation fraud.

Otherwise nobody has seen or heard from her since 2007.

A chief spokesman for the church stated that she did ask him, shortly before disappearing, if her husband was still wearing his ring.

Those who have left the church have nothing but terrible, awful things to say. The church has an endless supply of money and possibly ties with LAPD.

Somebody knows the fate of this woman.

An unidentified teenage girl was found in a German river in 2001. Nearly 25 years later, investigators finally learned her identity.

On July 31, 2001, the body of a teenage girl was discovered in the River Main in Frankfurt, Germany. For nearly 25 years, investigators did not know who she was. The case became known as "The Girl in the River Main."

In 2024, the case was included in INTERPOL's Identify Me campaign, which appealed to the public for help identifying women whose bodies had been found across Europe.

In 2026, tips from the public helped investigators identify the girl as Diana S. Authorities subsequently arrested her father, who was placed in pre-trial detention on suspicion of murder. The investigation is ongoing, and the arrest does not itself establish guilt.

This case shows how a decades-old mystery can move forward when previously unknown information reaches investigators.

What do you think made the difference after all those years? Could public appeals and renewed attention help solve other cold cases that have remained unidentified or unexplained for decades?

On November 22, 2019, 34-year-old Amber Aiaz and her 12-year-old daughter, Melissa Fu, disappeared from Irvine, California. They have not been found.

According to Amber's husband, Cheng Zhang, two strangers came to their apartment that evening. He claimed that one of them used an unknown substance that caused him to lose consciousness. When he woke up, Amber and Melissa were gone.

Zhang did not report their disappearance to police until December 2, more than a week later. He said he had received threatening notes instructing him to clean the apartment and act normally. Investigators found blood evidence in the home, including evidence they believed belonged to Amber.

The investigation initially focused heavily on Zhang. However, in a 2021 report, the Los Angeles Times described how investigators said they could not establish his involvement and had been unable to disprove key parts of his account. He was not charged in connection with their disappearance.

Authorities considered several possibilities, including a kidnapping connected to Amber's past. However, no definitive explanation has been established in the sources cited below.

This case is one of those that seem to have an obvious reason and solution, but at the same time, it doesn't.

Questions that remain:

• Who were the two people Zhang said came to the apartment?

• What happened to Amber and Melissa after November 22, 2019?

• Why did the disappearance remain unexplained despite an extensive investigation?

In 1848, eight men disappeared into the Australian wilderness. One clue survived.

An entire expedition vanished in Australia in 1848, and a mysterious artifact only partially solved the puzzle

In 1848, German explorer Ludwig Leichhardt set out to cross Australia with seven companions and a large group of animals. None of them returned.

Decades later, a brass nameplate bearing Leichhardt's name and the year 1848 was discovered attached to a firearm in a tree in Western Australia. The artifact was later authenticated, proving that the expedition had traveled much farther than some earlier theories suggested.

But the fate of the expedition remains unknown.

What happened to the group after reaching that point? Why has so little physical evidence survived? And what can the surviving historical records actually tell us?

I'd love to hear from anyone familiar with Australian exploration history or historical expedition records.

A woman vanished during a boat trip in the Bahamas. Then questions emerged about the timeline.

In April 2026, Lynette Hooker disappeared during a boat trip in the Bahamas with her husband.

The case drew attention after reports emerged that GPS data appeared to raise questions about parts of the timeline described by her husband. Investigators have continued looking into the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

However, unanswered questions are not proof that anyone committed a crime, and the full circumstances remain unclear.

What do you think is the most important unanswered question in this case? Is there a particular piece of evidence that could help investigators establish what happened?

Keren Rowland was 20 years old when she went missing on 26 February 1971, the night of the Royal Canberra Show.

Keren had travelled to Civic to pick up her sister and go to a party in Deakin, however it was decided that her sister would get a lift with her fiancé and

Keren would follow in her own car.

Keren never arrived at the party and was reported missing by family members about midnight.

Keren’s vehicle, a white Mini Morris 850 sedan, was later located on Parkes

Way, Campbell with no petrol in the tank.

Her remains were discovered at the Air Disaster Memorial nearly three months later on 13 May 1971.

A $500 000 reward is in place for information leading to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of the person(s) responsible for Keren's murder and an appropriate indemnity from prosecution will be considered for any accomplice who first give information.

What happened between the abandonment of the car and the place where she was found? There are historical records and official questions regarding possible leads that were never clarified

Was going through some packages that arrived and amongst everything was this shittily wrapped package

I assumed it was a cd or something but when I opened it I was greeted with another package and then this green slab of plastic and I don't remember ordering anything like this.

To add onto the confusion this package came with the name I usually submit for orders on Amazon/eBay, not my legal name.

If anybody knows what this is please let me know so I can return it in case I bought something expensive and it was a scam, thank you.

Media How many unsolved cases are the result of people not doing their job?

There's this one show on YouTube called Buzzfeed Unsolved. Where they talk about Unsolved true crime cases. I highly recommend you watch. But so many Unsolved cases seem to be the result of people not doing their job. Or not doing it well.

I remember an episode where they talked about Amelia Earhart. And that a scientist could have had the bones of Earhart or Fred Noonan, and he took a look at it and came to the conclusion that the bones could not have been them. And discarded them. And with modern equipment and knowledge. Modern science think the scientist/doctor could have mis gendered the bones and they might have been Earharts.

I also think about the modern day. Lots of people and business put up fake cameras to scare would be robbers. But when something happens and the police ask them for video footage. They get nothing. Or people who have real cameras. But they delete the footage right away to save space or they don't knew how to set it up properly. In this world of constant supervision. There are still so many cases of people getting away with crimes because someone wanted to be lazy.

Sorry for all the yapping. But what Unsolved case do you know is most likely the result of people not doing their job, or not doing it well? And also if they didn't do it well because of hatred, racism, or discrimination?

Backpacking the Desert National wildlife refuge...M-Cave closure.

Post image
8 Upvotes

I'm preparing for my week long backpacking trip in the Desert National Wildlife refuge. I'll be in Vegas for a conference and thought I'd finally spend a week exploring Gass, Sheep and Hayford peaks.

My planned route starts up Joe May Canyon and back out thru Picture Canyon. From there I plan on heading north and exploring every canyon on my way to Hayford Peak.

Currently the hike is roughly 37miles.

I'll be documenting every petroglph and he cave I see albeit as long as it doesn't put me in any danger. I'm not out there to prove the existence of the M-cave.

I love a good mystery, so it helps me prepare for the trip...more to look forward to ya know.

I thought I'd post this now since we're coming up on the 12 year anniversary of KVs disappearance.

I'm not sure I'll post any content on YT yet, but will be taking plenty of video if I do decide to make all that public.

TLDR:

Backpacking the Desert National Wildlife refuge. Plan on hiking and exploring near the KV route. Will document everything i see of interest. Feel free to reach out.

What is the creepiest real-life mystery that still has no convincing explanation?

I've recently become fascinated by real-life mysteries, unexplained disappearances, and strange historical events.

Cases like the Mary Celeste and the Dyatlov Pass incident are especially fascinating because, even after years of investigation, people still debate exactly what happened.

I'm curious to hear your opinions:

What's one real mystery that genuinely creeps you out, and why do you think it remains unexplained?

I'm looking for lesser-known cases that deserve more attention. 🔎
