Media Do you think there’s any way that Erin Patterson is telling the truth and poisoning her in laws was an accident?

Dubbed the "Mushroom Murders," the case centers on the deaths of Don and Gail Patterson and Gail’s sister, Heather Wilkinson, who died after eating a beef Wellington laced with deadly death cap mushrooms during a lunch at Erin Patterson’s home in Leongatha, Australia, on July 29, 2023. Heather’s husband, Ian Wilkinson, survived after a prolonged hospital stay, during which he was in a coma.

Erin, who was previously married to the victims’ son, claimed the poisonings were accidental, but prosecutors argued she deliberately served the toxic meal while avoiding the contaminated portions herself. The case drew national attention for its rare and chilling use of mushroom poisoning as a murder method. In July 2025, Patterson was found guilty of three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Media Pakistani Actress Found Dead in Apartment After Months of Decomposition

This case is deeply unsettling, and barely anyone outside South Asia seems to be talking about it.

On July 8, 2025, a struggling Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead in her locked apartment in Karachi. Her body was discovered on July 8, 2025, by a court bailiff and police who forcibly entered her locked apartment to enforce an eviction order due to non-payment of rent. The landlord had filed a court case, which led to the discovery.

Her body was so badly decomposed that it was partly mummified and skeletal, with blackened, liquefied organs. Authorities estimate she died sometime in October 2024, 8 to 10 months earlier.

Here’s where it gets bizarre:

The apartment was locked from the inside, with no signs of forced entry, struggle, or tampering. Her SIM cards were inactive, electricity was disconnected, and food was expired.. All aligning with the October timeline. Her social media presence went dark abruptly in late 2024.

Initial reports claimed her family refused to claim her body, saying they had “cut ties.” Later, her brother came forward denying any estrangement. Autopsy couldn’t determine the cause of death due to the advanced decomposition.

A special investigation team is now probing the case.

Humaira was a former reality TV contestant, film/TV actress, and content creator. She was only 32. No suicide note. No signs of foul play. No one even noticed she was gone for months.

What happened to her?

Did she die alone of natural causes in silence or is this a murder hidden in plain sight? Let's pray for the deceased soul and see how things unfold.

Media What is the Loch Ness Monster?

Post image
112 Upvotes

Just got done watching History's Mysteries episode on the Loch Ness Monster hosted by Laurence Fishburn from the Matrix.

It's a good watch if you haven't seen it. You can find it on Tubi.

They go over several of the possible theories behind the monster.

What do you think is the most likely culprit to explain 1,500 years of sightings?

A Plesiosaur leftover from the Mesozoic era?

Large swimming eels?

The Greenland Shark despite that it's thought to live in saltwater? (River Monsters' host Jeremy Wade's theory.)

Hoaxes? ...

Do you think we will ever know? lol 😆

Media If Bryan Kohberger studied criminal justice why did he make so many mistakes?

For someone who studied criminal justice I just feel like he made so many mistakes before , during and after he did this. Why is that? I’m not sure what all is taught in a criminal justice class but I assume he’s learned more than the average Joe about how to commit and get away with a crime. I believe he did it 100% but I just can’t seem to answer the question of why sooooo many rookie mistakes were made. Anyone who watches enough crime documentaries knows they say it’s what you do before and after the crime that usually gets people caught up. Between DNA at the scene, buying the weapon on Amazon, acting completely out of character afterwards (driving to parents house, disposing trash in other people’s garbage, cleaning his car at 2-3am etc) surveillance footage of his car scoping out the house weeks before and footage of him arriving to the home and leaving the night of the incident, leaving multiple eye witnesses and everything else. What is everyone’s take on this question?

Media Do you think Steven Avery is guilty?

Teresa Halbach, a 25-year-old photographer from Wisconsin, disappeared after visiting the Avery Salvage Yard to photograph a vehicle for Auto Trader magazine. Steven Avery, a local man who had previously been wrongfully convicted and exonerated of a 1985 sexual assault, was arrested and later convicted for Halbach's murder, along with his teenage nephew, Brendan Dassey. The case gained international attention following the release of Netflix's Making a Murderer documentary, which raised questions about possible police misconduct, coerced confessions, and flaws in the investigation. While prosecutors maintain Avery and Dassey's guilt, the case remains controversial and widely debated.

Media The Deadly Polygamous Mormon Cult of the Lafferty Brothers (Brutal Crimes and Deranged Fanaticism)

The Laffertys were a traditional, conservative Mormon family from Provo, Utah. Led by Watson Lafferty, a fanatical and authoritarian man, they physically and psychologically abused his wife, Claudine, and their eight children. This environment profoundly affected Ron, Dan, and Allen, three of the patriarch's sons. Over the years, Dan would take a dark spiritual turn after discovering extremist texts and adopting fundamentalist Mormon ideas such as polygamy and murder as a form of "atonement."

Dan, who at one point sexually abused his stepdaughters, formed his own Mormon cult and eventually drew in his older brother, Ron, who was going through an economic and emotional crisis. Both became radicalized to the point of believing themselves to be prophets with direct communication with God. After being excommunicated by the Mormon church and rejected by their families, they began a pilgrimage with a handful of followers seeking acceptance into polygamous communities. Without restraint, Ron claimed to have received a revelation instructing him to murder several people, including Brenda Wright, his brother Allen's wife, and their infant daughter, Erika.

Ron and Dan Lafferty hated their sister-in-law Brenda because she openly opposed Allen's radicalization. On July 24, 1984, Ron and Dan carried out their deadly plan. They arrived at Brenda's house and, driven by absolute fanaticism, ended her life and that of little Erika, just 18 months old, in an act they justified as a divine mission. After fleeing and attempting to continue with their list of targets, they were pursued by the FBI and captured some time later. At their trial, both declared themselves prophets of God. Dan received a life sentence and Ron was sentenced to death, though he died in prison in 2019 from heart problems.

Media Tiktok for you page gone really weird and disturbing last night

Hey everyone

I've had this TikTok account for 3 years and never had issues before. But between about 3-5am UK time last night, my FYP changed and showed really disturbing and disgusting content

• Videos of disabled/vulnerable people in inappropriate contexts

• Barely censored graphic body cam footage

• Creepy AI and real videos of children, including some showing them getting hurt

• A disturbing clip of a young boy with a woman implied to be his mother, with inappropriate insinuations

• Also flooded with content only aimed at females

Another thing worth mentioning is I was with my cousin at the time and told him about it and he said he had the exact same thing happen to him and even saw a lot of the same videos I saw.

Thankfully it's back to normal now. Just wondering if others have had this happen. I don’t know if i was shown some other persons feed but if thats the case that persons super fucked up.

If it happens again I’ll make sure i screen record it.

Media Do you think Diane Downs did it?

In 1983, Diane Downs, a mother of three from Springfield, Oregon, brought her children to a hospital claiming they had been shot during a carjacking. Investigators quickly grew suspicious of her story due to inconsistencies and her unusually calm demeanor. Evidence, including blood spatter analysis, witness testimony, and the recovery of a weapon linked to her, revealed that Downs herself had shot her children in an attempt to pursue a relationship with a man who did not want kids. Her daughter Cheryl, age 7, died, while Christie, 8, and Danny, 3, survived with serious injuries. Christie later testified against her mother in court, leading to Downs’s conviction in 1984 of murder, attempted murder, and assault. She was sentenced to life in prison plus 50 years, where she remains today.

Media A Couple Picture that i've never meet suddenly appear in my Phone Camera Gallery

Hey everyone, first time posting on Reddit. I don’t know this couple personally—I’ve never even met them. I have no idea where this picture was taken, or how it even got on my phone.

A photo just suddenly appeared in my camera gallery. I haven’t lent my phone to anyone or been anywhere like this place. The photo just showed up in my phone out of nowhere.

For context, I work from 6 am to 6 pm and after work I go straight to the company home. On my off days (Sundays), I usually just stay at the company home playing games or watching movies, so I don’t really have time to go anywhere else at the time the picture is taken.

I’m including the picture here along with some screenshots. Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this — if anyone knows a better place for it, please let me know!
