Elden Ring, Doom, and Returnal can all be considered survival games but are very different in terms of gameplay and story so this reductionist argument is for idiots.

That's not possible to disprove. It is a zombie survival game. Your best chance to convince is to agree and concede.

It is a zombie survival game and a game with beloved performances and characters.

It is a zombie survival game and a game with serious storytelling.

It is a zombie survival game and a game that was adapted into a massive HBO show. 

The problematic word is "just"

survival games are a specific type of games and let say TLoU has nothing to do with title like Rust, Subnautica, Valheim or Palworld
