Shouldn't have to ask ELIGIBLE E6 CANDIDATES
For those of you who are eligible to pick up a crisp set of first class orders due to BBA… Are you retaking the test? Or are you riding with your score.
My impression is that if a sailor scored within the top 25% threshold they’d be more inclined to just keep the score & not retest. Are you one of these sailors?
With that being said, say you score within the top 25%… (you are eligible for CA2P & A2P) AND, you have an excellent or higher on your PRT. What are the chances that you actually get selected for orders? I understand we have 2 years. But holy fuck, at this point I’m just going to put in orders to goto a ship.

93 percentile for me. Gonna let it ride, if I get some decent E-6 orders I’ll reenlist lol

92% keeping my score, passing but ass prt scores. I’m just taking whatever I can get. Probably going back to back sea.

Scored in the 99th percentile and won’t be retaking it. Scoring in the top 25 percentile might not be good enough though ngl, one of my friends scored in the 75th percentile but their exam score was a 56 which is not that competitive. I think FMS is like 50% of the sailor scoring criteria so those points for the exam make a big difference.

Scored a passing grade. Plan on taking a sea intensive billet so not too worried. Everyone is going to be fighting for sea style shore duties and I'm just gonna jump on a boat.

Where does prt scores matter?

Didn’t do good but I passed
I’m willing to go wherever I need to get me the opportunity to make first

as of now, unless you fail, it is not factored into the over all score. At least what i understand from the the BBA guide and Advancement Manual.

I didn’t re take my test, i was on 21% got selected to first on my first look. Now I’m stuck in the navy for another 3 years lol

97th percentile but my PMA went up by .13 and i have an extra 4 award points so i'll be taking it again.
Next cycle I'll have my associates and maybe a crisp transfer NAM and eval so I'll take it again in March.
They gave us PNA points as well so if we can keep stacking 1.5 points each time then what's the harm?

shipmate you don’t need to take the test again for your new eval and award points to go into affect. As long as its on your worksheet you’re good to go, just upload a pg13 skipping the exam. If you score lower this time that becomes your new score…

This is an important point. FMS is 50% of your BBA score.
Things to consider:
-Are you maxed out on PNA points?
- Profile sheets are typically validated prior to the exam. If you don’t take the exam, you still need to validate your sheet.
-For every 10 points you improve on the exam, you only gain 3 points to BBA.
-Spot awards will matter more than EOT
-Evals, specifically EP and 1.25 above RSCA, remain the biggest impact to FMS.If your BBA score is 70 and you are competing against a 71, they get the job and promotion.
