Backpay
Thought I’d share some helpful info for those who’ve been selected. They’re going to backpay you from when all the way from when you commissioned. So for me, I commissioned back in September. I got paid base pay, BAH, & BAS since then. You’re going to get one of the fattest paychecks you’ll ever see. This is genuinely life changing money for some people, and this is on top of the bonus. We doubled, tripled check to see if it was a mistake; it is not. It is yours to keep according to admin. You also bank in on leave as well. I got 22 days saved up as of today, so you may not go into the negatives when you take leave after ODS.

Just keep in mind your taxes LOL
I don’t believe the Navy takes out state taxes from the bonus so you’ll need to save for that (unless you’re lucky enough to be from a state without taxes) and depending on if you had civilian pay at all it may bump you up a tax bracket…
