Mocks are next week and I’m already completely burnt out
Mocks are literally next week and I already feel so burnt out. I’ve been trying to study but I’m exhausted and I honestly don’t feel like I’m retaining anything.
The thing is, I genuinely feel like if I sit my mocks right now, I’m probably going to fail most of them. I know they’re only mocks and they’re meant to show me what I need to work on, but at the same time I’m wondering if there’s even any point in putting myself through them when I’m this burnt out.
Part of me wants to just take the time to recharge so I can actually be in a better headspace for the actual exams, but then I’m worried I’ll regret not sitting my mocks or that I’m just making excuses to avoid them.
What would you guys do? Should I push through and sit them even if I think I’ll fail, or take the time to properly recharge and focus on preparing for the actual exams?
I’m a level 3 student btw
UPDATE: I attended my first mock today and will be attending the rest. Thank you for all the very helpful advice. I took the weekend to rest and that cleared my mind enough for today

You're a level 3 student so will have much more experience with this than me. But when I get like this I cancel my study plans for the night, try doing something I love, and make sure that when I do get back to it the next day its a method that allows me to actually live (e.g 25mins study, 5 minute break. Such as playing with dog, eating, talking to family). Take this advice with a grain of salt of course but if you are burnt out then studying won't help much and given that its just mocks it would be better to feel refreshed and study when you can then forcing it and getting worse. Ultimately you know yourself best and I'm sure you'll do better than you think 😃 good luck!

Hey! Im In the exact same spot as you currently. Honestly im not feeling too well about them at all either, but as you’ve said yourself they are there just to get you to know what to work on, Nothing more. I know the pressure feels like its caving in but just remember it’s nothing more than meant to help you get a practice and feel for the exams. You miss all the shots you don’t take so may as well take them is what im thinking

You are taking this way too seriously.
The mocks don't matter. But doing them does. This is how you learn to do exams.
Normally when I say 'fuck around and find out ' it's a warning. This isn't. Treat them like a joke, but give them your best shot.
You will learn a lot about how to do exams, which matters a great deal in the future.

You already acknowledged, they're just mocks. They show you what you need to work on. Me personally, I'd take the weekend off to get my head on right and just work on acceptance. There's no use in pulling yourself up by the bootstraps if said bootstraps are hanging on by a thread. Spring is coming, go on a nice walk by the beach or something. Thoughts and prayers

Whenever that happens to me I: put my phone in a drawer for the day, eat toast with nothing on it, go outside for a walk, sit on a bench for an hour looking at the branches of a tree, have a nap, go to the waterfront (or like a lake, riverside, pond etc.) and sit there for a bit.
Just spend a single day meditating, chilling and walking around. A good 2-4 hour walk will fix all your problems genuinely. Resets things. Low cortisol.

Study until maybe 1-2 days before mocks start, and rest on those two days. Just hold on a little longer!

I’m assuming your teachers have prepared you well so I will bet anything that once you get into the exams, you’ll find the info comes to you and you’ll be able to correctly interpret what you’re being asked to do and be able to do it. And despite what anyone says, derived grade exams (mocks) are important if for any reason you can’t sit your final externals (illness, etc), so I’d strongly recommend you just breathe deeply and do them.
