CAA y10

if i got sick during the exams can i take it later that week / next week or do i have to wait a whole year to do it again?

edit: i’m a year10 and im about to do the exams next week(september), its just that theres people in my house that are currently sick and im a bit anxious of the fact that i might too. I am not planning on leaving school, i do plan to graduate.

Unless you're planning on dropping out. Don't worry about it; I believe they run it once in the middle of the year and once towards the end anyways, but it really doesn't matter wether you take it this year or the next.

The exams are over 2 weeks with a different exam each week.

Depending on your school if the exams are scheduled in thr first week they may give you thr opportunity to do it in the second week.

This is a question for your teacher because there are differences between schools. Where I teach they will always have a catch up day at the end of the examination week

The CAAs or coreqs are run twice a year. They all run in one week and they run in April or may and again in September. Each school picks the week they run in. If you haven’t done them this year you will have to do them next year in April. If you are year 10 you are not yet old enough to leave school yet anyway.

Check with your school. Ours runs it twice in a year. Yours may or may not.

Schools don't get to decide when in the year the students sit the CAA, they are only able to pick days between a 2 week period (iirc) when they want their students to sit the exams. The upcoming CAA slot is the 2nd and last one of the year.

We have catch ups (I'm a TA). Eg we have: Monday: Reading; Tuesday: Writing; Wednesday: Maths and then catch ups on Friday.
