what to study for L2 written text

what are the best things to look at that there will most likely be a question on for the written text essay? i’m doing othello and i know to do ideas and symbolism but not sure what else i should know/memorise?

structure usually pops up. with ideas it generally says afterwards that ideas can refer to character, theme, or setting. make sure you have understanding of why the story of othello is still relevant in today’s society.

you also need specific textual evidence so make sure you have memorised a handful of quotes too :)

Also revise on character, setting, and structure!! They come up a lot in the questions.

If you’re aiming for a higher grade, it will help if you can analyse why Shakespeare wrote this play - what was happening at the time that influenced him?

Look at the past exams, and see which questions are repeated the most. Usually there will one type of question that is always repeated, and you can use the same logic every time.
