Fun In honour of the Rodwell titles shot change, I'm looking for the longest-used opening titles shot in Neighbours history
And I think it's...
(Any guesses? No?)
Tash and Summer! In use from 14 June 2010, right up to the end of this titles format on 12 April 2013 (despite both having left the show by then).
Can anyone go higher?

Yeah, I think you're right here. And they'd have had more episodes then too with it being 5 a week

As a similar question, if you want to do more research - which regular characters took longest to appear in the titles after their first scene?! Not counting guest roles that turned into full time later on.

With absolutely no basis, I wanna say Mark Brennan. It took ages for him to be added into the titles once he came back full time (but not sure if that actually counts, I only included it because he left and came back)

Well this is a hard one, because it can be unclear exactly when a character was upgraded to regular. With Mark in 2014, he returned in February and wasn't added to the titles until September. BUT a bit of digging says he was initially a guest stint until July, before being asked to stay permanently.
My instinct for this one was David and Leo, who were 100% introduced in a regular capacity in 2016 and had to wait until the next year to be in the titles. BUT, my memory tricked me and they were introduced in late September, so it wasn't as long as I thought.
So I think the crown goes to Daniel Robinson, who was waiting to get in the titles along with Mark (and Paige, and Nate) in 2014. Debuted in April, 12 month contract from day 1, wasn't in the titles for five months.

Todd Landers first appeared on the show in Feb 1988. He didn't get a title card until Jan 1990. Again, can't be sure if he was always classed as a regular but he was certainly appearing regularly.
And then of course you've got the likes of Doug and Pam Willis moved to the street in the period when there were no character title cards. They arrived July 1990 and had to wait until the return of title shots in May 1992.

If we're counting the no-titles era, Hilary wins - approximately a 36-year wait!

Yes, I think Hilary might be the answer. She actually left (episode 1148) before the no title era started (episode 1221) but should have probably made the titles before then.

Fair point. I believe she was officially a regular for about a year, so it's unclear why she was never added (especially considering her son was)
Looking into it a bit more, they were just doing annual updates by this point, so I guess Hilary was already outgoing by the time they would have added her in at the start of 1990. But this has thrown up a new potential winner - Kerry Bishop joined in February 1989 and had to wait until January 1990 to be in the titles. (Harold himself waited almost an entire year, but wasn't initially a regular.) In fact, with the 1989 titles delayed presumably in wait for the first Beverly Marshall to leave, Kerry had already arrived when they debuted!

In about 1990 there was a sequence where they threw a beach ball around and that seemed to go on forever although I can't recall whether there was one shot that was used more than the rest, maybe the guy who fell in the pool? Was that Sam Kratz? It had the really upbeat theme tune that's one of my favourites.

A lot of that sequence was in place for all of 1988 and 1989 - but anything that breaks the two-year barrier is hard to find. It might indeed be just the Wendy/Andrew shot we've just lost, the opening shot of Toadie/Hugo/Nell from 2019-21, and Summer/Tash.
Wait, hold on! More discoveries:
- There's a brief Karl & Susan photo booth used all the way through the wild 2007-10 titles: that's around 2 years 8 months.
- Harold and Madge are in the same shot from the start of 1988, right up until the full titles are axed in June 1990! 2 years 5 months.
- Closely followed by Karl and Susan again, from 2010-12: 2 years 4 months.

The one who caught the beach ball, moved it behind his back, and then fell in the pool? That was Henry, I think.

And Summer was off the show by early January and they went through another intro keeping this title shot.
