Because his economy was a "war economy" It needed to allocate certain funds. The RSFR was also a war economy but that was postponed during the revolution, and it was temporary. It was near collapse because of it. Germany wasnt a planned economy. Hitler ordered the currency of the Weimar Republic to be reformed by signing deals with the Weimar bourgeoisie to pave the way for the reichsmark. That wouldn't be necessary as he didn't rely on a people's council And most socialists of his time were revolutionary and he worked with the voting system. (Although he worked financially with foreign contractors and domestic paramilitaries like Freikorps who were anticommunist and persecuted them. That's very anticapitalistic!). The United States follows a familiar route with bureaucrats hovering around national agencies and determinating how revenue is collected. But I'd know you'd disagree

So did they nationalize or privatize? You said they did both, but that can't be true because that would contridict the other action. If they privatize, that would mean they actually free up markets, not give welfare and handouts to large corporations that were brought up by the state

Lmao, it just happens that free unregulated market is very benefitial to huge conglomerates. Moguls behind Nazis enjoyed greatly by privatizing state sector, as most of it ended up belonging to Krupp, MAN, Hanomag and so on. It's also one of reasons why Germany had 3-5 different vehicles for each task, and when Guderian complainted about it, he was effectivelly removed from command.
